Hi all - new member here, and decided to join due to newsletters covering the rise of high value scams and online safety. I'm ex-ADF IT/Security (over 40 years) and being consulted over scams in progress in my personal network really burns me that these scum are getting away with it.
Especially now scams are increasingly targeting individuals for 6 figure sums in a single instance.
Most people really only do homework on this after they have been touched personally.
So to everyone in this community I would encourage you to get ahead of these vile people and spend a few minutes going over the Government eSafety for Seniors information and short "training" packages to be better informed before doing that large online transaction/transfer or entering new Banking business...

The only way to get ahead of this is to become better educated, and also if you think you are in the middle of an issue, reach out to someone competent you really trust to assist you. Scamwatch is the other good place to check to be aware of how scammers are currently fleecing people -

If it smells fishy, is unexpected, or you are just unsure, please stop, and talk to someone you know. And if you believe you have been scammed talk to a trusted expert ASAP, and don't use any of your usual devices until they have been checked and cleared of anything malicious....
