Was given the first three series as a gift but haven't watched them as yet, want to buy the lot before I start watching.
In the past I have usually found the movie or show disappointing after having read the book first.
Both the books + the TV series are really good. One season is being shown on SBS at the moment

"Born To Stand Out" by Star Avery. A great read about the relationship between a mother and "special needs" daughter and their relationship with themselves.

For anyone interested in horse racing and allied employment (van drivers, sales personnel, trainers, investigators etc) I would highly recommend the series of books by ex jockey Dick Francis.
These stories/books are hard to 'put down' after one starts reading. Only author whose books I have read more than twice.

I have always loved reading and like to try different types of books for variety. I utilise the library but have also picked up the Outlander series of books at the local Op shop for a dollar each (bargain!) and anything by Nora Roberts, Bryce Courtney and Judy Nunn are well worth a look. I also love historical fiction set in the times of the royals of any country.

I read heaps of books about 2 a week. I get them from the library no cost.
I also make good use of the library. Free and a multitude of books to choose from. I also sometimes buy them from op shops. One of my favourite op shop shops sells their books for one dollar.

Have you read Conn Iggulden's War of the Roses, a good read if you like historical fiction. He also wrote a good series on the Khans. He has quite a long list of books to his credit, I've thoroughly enjoyed all the ones I have read. Still more to go.
