And speaking of My Gov, well Centrelink actually, I logged into my account through My Gov yesterday and found a message saying they had cancelled my rent relief, a whole $211 a fortnight, we have just moved and our rent had gone up by $230 a week. I was straight on the phone to them and after 45 minutes on hold with that shocking music the lady couldn't have been more helpful and she fixed it up on the spot.
That was a big chunk of change to lose in one go.
It's no wonder people get pissed with them while on the phone though, that music would send the most placid person into a rage 😂
Absolutely spot on, lets see how they fair with all the "upgrades to assistance us", just don't hold your breath while waiting, possibility of unconsciousness

SCAM Watch won't reply to your emails etc. They will just check it and add it to the ever growing list of spam emails/texts etc.
Scamwatch will send an automated response with a report number only.

I also forward the email messages to the Banks, Optus and PayPal as you can locate details on how to report to the companies. I also take a screenshot and post it on Facebook so people are aware.

I have a similar problem. Can't use it. Guess I'll need to delete and reset....one day. I got an email a few days ago from mygov.msau I didn't look any further, just deleted it.
Half the time I do need to use it, it won't let me in, this is inspite of the fact that it accepts my details and then proceeds to tell me that the account belongs to someone else.

I have received a similar one. I delete then check my MyGov account for messages. Of course there are none
Many elderly people who are just starting to get the hang of it all are the people I feel for. But I am 84 and check and check again, even if it looks good still do a google search then scam watch then turf it.

TWO glaring errors at least:

First is the already-mentioned "Centrlink" spello.

The second is right near the beginning: since when has Centrelink EVER thought of or called the people using its services "respected" ... !

I too have had several of these, 2 this morning. I delete the emails and then log into MyGov - of course nothing in my inboxes!
Thank you for drawing attention to this scam!

I got a mygov scam email. I deleted it and put a warning on social media. Never click a link, go to the original websearch using your browser.

My email.provider filters this rubbish out of my mail and throws it into junk automatically.

I've had emails from fake government agencies that originate from for afield as Japan, Tunisia, Brazil, Macedonia and Tuvalu. Just check the sender's address and the domain, e.g ..tn for Tunisia and .jp for Japan. If an email says <no sender address>, do not open it or click on any links. Immediately delete and clear your deleted email folder.

It is very distressing for us older ones to be waiting on the phone for a real person to talk too, press the wrong button at the wrong time, presto you have too start all over again...
Reminds me of Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson song, You can stick that f**king phone up your f**king arse, you're supposed to make it easy not f**king hard.
