Limericks in the past insulted the clergy
They forgot to analyse their massive exergy;
Most were rude & uncouth

Are you an English teacher by any chance, and this is not the next limerick, just interestGood try both, getting pedantic here again (sorry).
Rhyming was inventive and good, metre or flow was a bit off sorry.
The fourth line should have a similar number of syllables as the third.
The whole comes together better if the 4th was shortened a bit... ie:
Limericks in the past insulted the clergy
They forgot to analyse their massive exergy,
Most were rude and uncouth
Muttered in the confession booth
But you must admit they were all worth the splurgy!!
No, but at my age plus getting hooked on limericks as a teenager, I made a bit of a study of them. I know a lot of rather rude ones. ha ha but will confine those to the other limerick thread.Are you an English teacher by any chance, and this is not the next limerick, just interest
Didn't know there was another, I will stick to our funny ones, thanksNo, but at my age plus getting hooked on limericks as a teenager, I made a bit of a study of them. I know a lot of rather rude ones. ha ha but will confine those to the other limerick thread.
Well done both.. xxThere's many a slip between cup and lip
And too many bickies upon your hip
With sags to your tum
and bags on your bum
I think I'm ready for the tip!
