Hi everyone! We'd love to have a go at writing a limerick as a group You'll need to post the next line that will follow the last comment in the thread.

Here are the basic rules:

5 lines
Lines 1, 2 and 5 rhyme.
Lines 3 and 4 rhyme
Distinctive rhythm
Usually funny

Here is an example of a limerick:

There was an old man named Jake,
Who ate only spuds and beefsteak,
He drank, and he smoked,
And told dirty jokes,
And died young at a hundred and eight.

I'll get us started:

There was an old man in a tree...

There was an old man in a tree
Who wanted to see how far he could pee
He stood on a limb
That couldn't hold him
