As you get older you have to stay positive.

Last night at 130AM I fell down the stairs and instead of getting upset, I thought
wow, that is the fastest I have moved in years.

Looks like 2024 is going to be a good year.

If I won, the competition this year. I would still fall down but stay positive and
get up again for another positive round to keep me on my toes.

I have had one of those years, I have nearly lost my husband of 47 years, twice now through infection in his blood! He now has a bad heart, kidneys and a whole lot more! So with hospitals and all those Specialists it has been a bit hard this year! But I have been able to read all the items on this SDC on my tablet while sitting at the hospitals! So even if I can't win this competition, I can still enjoy reading all the articles on this forum. And no I can't afford to buy my membership, sorry hubby comes first!!

I like the challenge of going for it. It keeps the grey matter moving. The Annual Fee would be nice but for me it is the Challenge. I like the look of the Winning Cup being added to my name.

of the difficulties that we all face with the current situation we are in. I am a single Aged Pensioner, a Widow of thirty five years.
I am in similar circumstances to the Majority of People in the SDC. I do not have any reserves of Cash or items of value. My Car is twenty years old and currently costing a fortune to fix it.
I do own my own home, which is in need of a renovation as we speak.
I am able to budget my Pension very carefully, because I have too. It is a balancing act at best. So please don't be upset about my answer. I was not being
unaffected by members circumstances.

Okay Suzanne Rose, after I wrote the original post I thought it might be
Misconstrued that I was unfeeling in my comments about saying I liked the challenge of competing, not for the free
yearly subscription but the game of it (the Challenge)
I went to great lengths to explain that my
situation was similar to so many other members as well. But my focus was on enjoying the game or competition.
So I hope that clears up any questions that might come about by my SDC response.
