Hi my name if Chris, am married with 2 daughters, a son that died from incurable brain cancer 5 years ago. I have 7 grandchildren, on 2 of them are boys. I also have 4 great grandchildren. of which 2 boys and 2 girls.
I had to place my husband of 53 years this November, on the advice of a specialist 3 years ago. He is also classifying the signs of dementia, which I am finding it very difficult to deal with at times.
So thank you for allowing me to join this group, am hoping to meet new people.
My husband was in the Defence Force for 20 years, we started out in New South Wales, which we originally are from and 2 of my children were born there, we were then transferred to Hobart, Tasmanai for approc 3 years, then transferred to Strathpine, Queensland for another 3 years approx. Then transferred to Windsor Gardens in South Australia again for 3 years approx, and our last posting was back to Brisbane, Queensland where we have lived ever since.
Iam now currently renting in Strathpine and sharing a house with one of my daughters and a granddaughter who will turn 18 later this year and also finishes Grade 12.
So am hoping that gives you abit about myself and the travels I have had since getting married in 1970.

Hello, everyone, and thank you for the chance to join. I'm John, from Tasmania (JohnTas). I'm widowed and rising 83 but my doctor's coaching me towards a ton! I look forward to reading news and people's views and perhaps even managing a little occasional input. It's already been interesting reading members' recipes...
Again, my sincere thanks, JohnTas

Hi, I am Robert. I am used to forums like this one. I was a hard core poster of another forum, but that one is slowly dying. By the number of posts in this thread it looks like this forum is thriving. This means that I could become addicted to this forum. I already have made my first post. It may be the first of many.

Hello all, I am Dimitri but friends call me Dim. 66 years young, (where did all that time go), single and a musician, computer geek and all round techno tinkerer. Love my gadgets! Well it was suggested I say hello so here it is ... "HELLO!"

I have been a muso all my life and spent many years busking & performing gigs all around Melbourne, particularly at Southbank where I made a lot of busking friends. I haven't been for awhile as it takes a lot of energy to gather all the equipment, haul it in my car boot down to Narre Warren train station, jump the city train, drag my gear and (bigger than I need) busking amp on a collapsible trolley behind me with two guitars in tow. Takes about 30 minutes to set up, play for about 6 or 8 hours all the while avoiding the mongrel council bylaws officers who hassle you to move every two hours! You only have to move "three shop fronts" distance, so it means dragging connected gear about 30 metres to the other end of the grassed area just down from the footbridge leading to Flinders Street.

Okay that's me. Doubt anyone will actually read this to its end but if you do say hi. No such thing as a stranger only friends you haven't met yet!

Dim

Although I have only just registered as a ‘member’ I feel as if I have been one for ages as I sit and read the daily posts with a cuppa every day. I live on the Mornington Peninsula, volunteer at a support unit also at an op shop and I am obsessed with my garden! Have quite a few grandchildren who like most other grandparents get great joy from them.Just looking forward to some warm weather now as I am rather over the cold !

Hi , Rick Sharp here ,happy to have just joined but l have been following for some time now anyway so l am familiar with the daily update posts.

May l also bring to your attention a current new almost believable email scam l received yesterday , 27 th at 2 pm .The email said it was from
Mygov and carried Aust Govt logo,s and said Fed Govt was to pay a new energy rebate of 500AUD. and included a sign up page attachment with a fill in form for our
personal details required to
Apply.

So if it sounds to good to be true always dig deeper l almost got into trouble

All the very best and stay safe
