Shock exit! This beloved Brisbane landmark is shutting down for good

If only you had said it was in Brisbane I wouldn't have opened it, what with the downloading of thousands of ads using up data. What a con.

‘$3.10 isn't even a litre of milk’: Centrelink recipients slam latest payment increase

Inflation is currently running at about 2.5%, while the pension increase of $4.60 per fortnight is 0.4%. Tell me how that is fair. Not to mention as someone already has, the huge increases in insurances in particular and other costs of living, how can we possibly keep up?

Protect Your Wallet: Are You One of the 11,400 Drivers Already Snagged by Australia's Latest Road Scam?

My idea of road safety is to take away the licences of the idiot drivers who run red lights, and think stop signs are a suggestion, etc, etc. Watch dash-cam on YouTube and you'll see so many reckless drivers doing stupid things. They have no right to be on our roads.

Authorities introduce scan zones in bustling areas—how will you adjust to drastic knife law changes?

Not if they're still sealed, you have a dated receipt, and you're heading home.

New power bill credits to roll out as government tackles rising living costs

I have replied before about similar promos, but they won't change, because everyone who clicks on it opens up thousands of ads which benefit SDC. What they do is morally wrong, IMO.

State introduces 'national first' initiative to provide $100 vouchers for seniors to get active

SDC: If this is for Tasmanians only, why don't you say so up front. We have to open every link with thousands of ads, just to see what it's about. Can you imagine the total amount of download data for absolutely nothing when it doesn't apply to us? Come on, you can do better than that. Give a...

Cash in on health: Big changes to Seniors Card could boost your savings and health benefits!

For those of you who don't know, those eligible (pensioners, etc.) can get scripts for $6.70. All you have to do is ask your chemist for it, as I did nearly two years ago. Saves $1.00 each, at least in NSW.

Struggling to make ends meet? Upcoming Centrelink boost still not enough for Aussies

SDC, where are you getting these figures from? I am on an Aged Pension, and since April of last year, I have been receiving $1116.30 per fortnight. With an increase of $28.10, that will put the total up to $1144.40 per fortnight for single pensioners, not $1,047.10 as you say. Please explain!

Strapped for cash: Dad's costly seatbelt slip sends $1,209 message to all drivers

"... while a 6-year-old was found with the middle seatbelt wrapped around his neck." Give me a break! Who on earth would do a thing like that. Can you imagine what might happen in an accident? I'm happy he was fined.

Kmart stuns customers with $5 erotic-looking item

Looks like a regular candle to me. Some people actually disgust me by their gutter-minds.

Born Before 1959? Here's How You Could Be Overpaying for Car Insurance - And How to Stop It!

Hint: If you don't want a call-back, put in a false number. (Oops, did I say that?)

    Endoscopy for Beginners

Good story, nicely written. It brought back memories of the many times I went through that procedure. Not pleasant, but necessary.

Bluetooth Anti-Theft Adapter: Enhance your home security for under $20

Thanks Alan. This idea is much appreciated, as I didn't know you could do such a thing. I'll be getting one today and will give it a try for sure. I often wondered how easy it would be for thieves to break in via the roller door, as mine opens up to my back yard. I would love to read more ideas...

Are you aware of this Commonwealth Bank scam that appears ‘genuine’ at first glance?

Another spelling error is 'we're' instead of the correct 'we've'. Scammers will nearly always get something wrong.

Beware of the new road toll scam: Here's how you can safeguard yourself

I've had hundreds (it seems) of these. I have always ignored them.

Beware of the new road toll scam: Here's how you can safeguard yourself

Yes, incorrect use of the word (wrong word used). Also used for incorrect spelling.

Aussie driver's dirty deed could cost them a whopping $660 fine! Don't make the same mistake!

There is a very useful phone app everyone should have. It shows the public toilets near to where you are, and usually the opening times, etc. The app is called "Where is Public Toilet".

This is the secret one shopper used to snag a $319 lawn mower from Bunnings Warehouse for just $45!

Usually, you have to be in the right place at the right time. Who's going to wait around at Bunnings all day every day in case a bargain comes your way? Not me!

Your treasures could be worth a fortune: eBay sees skyrocketing prices for modern collectibles!

That's okay, but I have a dictionary that has a word spelled incorrectly. I wonder if that's worth anything?

Say goodbye to winter laundry woes with ALDI's Heated Clothes Airer

At any time of the year, I choose a day that will be sunny (or at least no rain or showers) to do my washing, and it dries outside on a line in a few hours. A light breeze is always best for faster results.
