New government program aims to make home-buying easier for Aussies

Found this wording on another site.. Must have no land or property under your name in Australia or overseas Property purchased through the scheme must be participants’ primary residence So they don't have to be living in it already, but the property they buy they'll have to live in (as opposed...

You Won't Believe the Shocking State of This Kmart Beauty Section!

I've only noticed one kmart store that was really untidy every time I went in, that was Northlakes in Brisbane. I'm a traveller and have visited many other stores in different states, all were OK (at the time I was there anyway). In Northlakes there were items fallen on the floor, clothes draped...

Which is Australia's Top Supermarket for 2023? ALDI, Coles, IGA or Woolworths? The result might surprise you!

I saw handbag identical to one I'd bought elsewhere for $20. Aldi had it for $40. That's one instance, there are many more, that I see when I'm there. It pays to compare and not blindly assume they are cheaper.

You won't believe which popular Facebook Messenger feature is disappearing in September!

OK, I get it, I think. SMS is/was a separate feature in Messenger, only available in Android, so could only be set up on an Android device. If you haven't set this up then you are using the normal Messenger texts, which are not affected by this change. Panic over!

Which is Australia's Top Supermarket for 2023? ALDI, Coles, IGA or Woolworths? The result might surprise you!

Many of the Special Buys at Aldi are now more expensive than elsewhere, in some cases I've seen, double. Occasionally there will be a true bargain. I think in the beginning everything was a bargain, and we're now brainwashed that this is still true. It's not. Having said that, the foods are...

And what about Marketplace - the default communication between buyers and sellers uses Messenger.

Are YOU Paying Too Much? Aussie Expat Reveals Dishwasher Tablet Price Shock Overseas

Any natural products that do the same job? Bicarb soda and vinegar maybe? That would be a fraction of the price of tablets, and still be good for the machine.

Great News! Seniors can get a petrol discount at United Petroleum

RACT (same as NRMA in NSW) already has this partnership in Tasmania. Very useful as there are plenty of United service stations in Tassie - many more than Coles or Woollies have.

Fair play or age discrimination? ‘Baby boomers’ are allegedly being unfairly excluded from Koala Mattress' year of free rent competition

Let's all be heroes and enter, and hopefully a baby boomer will win, and foil this evil scheme :-) The questions were ridiculously easy. One of the questions I got is "Planking", which btw is the image of a horizontal person being carried, looks like at Stonehenge.

Fair play or age discrimination? ‘Baby boomers’ are allegedly being unfairly excluded from Koala Mattress' year of free rent competition

The questions were so easy they must think we're idiots. I answered their questions easily so have entered. And not a thing they can do if I win, that'll teach them not to mess with older people!

Cruel Frank Green scam websites target Aussies

HTTPS is merely a certificate that a domain (website URL) can obtain for free. It is nowhere enough to show a site is secure.

Businesswoman scammed out of $42,000 in seconds: could this text message be a threat to you too?

I keep a separate bank account for online transactions, with a maximum of $200. If I need more, I'll transfer it a couple of minutes beforehand. Plus, I never use my phone for banking.

Excite your taste buds with ALDI's $2 lunch idea!

It's expensive for a bowl of noodles in broth - and then labelled as something exotic.

Customers are left in shock when casserole mix is listed for a whopping $34.99: ‘That is definitely not correct’

On the topic of Aldi and prices, while the frozen goods are 40-50% less than Woollies or Coles, and worth buying, I think the Specials they offer are only sometimes good value. I suspect it was a marketing ploy in the very beginning when they first started , that brainwashed us into thinking...

If you could see one movie again for the first time, what would it be and why?

Harold and Maude, but I doubt Netflix has it. The Constant Gardner The Hundred Foot Journey Red, and Red 2 Charlie and Boots

Is Coles Plus really worth your hard-earned money? Discover the truth here!

If Coles and Woollies gave their lowest prices they wouldn't need to offer programs like these to entice shoppers. So I'm back to Aldi...no nonsense, what you see is what you get.
