If you have grandchildren who are up-to-date with the trends or have encountered viral social media posts, you might have heard about the famous Frank Green bottles.

These designer bottles are highly sought-after for their aesthetics and insulation capabilities, but unfortunately, they come with a hefty price tag – enough to make a frugal shopper wince.

Kmart's $15 insulated stainless steel water bottles have recently gained attention for their striking resemblance to the designer Frank Green bottles. These bargain buys are available in an array of colours like slate, fluro pink, olive, and coral, and they promise to keep your drinks warm or cold for up to six hours.

A quick look through Frank Green's website shows their reusable drink bottles starting at $39.95, making Kmart's option a much more wallet-friendly choice. You can read more about the product here in this article!

However, some customers find that Kmart's insulated bottles appear somewhat plain. That's when resourceful Aussies like DIY enthusiast Amanda stepped up and shared their clever bottle-customising idea.

Introducing the 'Fake Green' concept, Amanda showed off her masterpiece in a popular Facebook group. Utilising her trusty Cricut machine (available for sale in retail stores such as BIG W, JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, and Harvey Norman) and the Monogram Maker feature in the Design Space software, she crafted a logo very similar to the Frank Green design, but with a cheeky twist—changing the name to 'Fake Green' instead!

You don’t have to be a grandchild or a teenager to use Frank Green bottles - my 44-year-old daughter uses one. She requested it for her last birthday.

My 18 year old and 22 year old daughters have Frank Green bottles and it's nothing to do with the look it's how it keeps the water cold and they have said it's like drinking water straight from the filtered water bottle.

The kmart bottles leave a taste in the bottles that's not fresh

I was a sceptic with the Frank Green bottles but I Have to say they are amazing and no kmart bottle compares

In this case you are getting what you pay for

Infact my older daughters have just ordered a Frank Green bottle

I love my Cricut machine! From so many things I can create, besides gifts and cards, no appliance in my home has been safe from being named and has its very own decorative vinyl label! LOL

there a thing called 'copyright'. How many times do we read/see apple, macdonalds etc challenging mums and dad operators for violation of the use of a trademarked name. Simply copying and then loading on to facebook is just asking for a legal stoush. You want a Frank Green BUY one don't copy it. Much the same as cabbage patch dolls of the 80's kids that are brand conscious will just look for the trademark image, no trademark won't want a knock off. If you can't afford the real thing don't mimic it. buy the Kmart one and wear that purchase with pride.

I would suggest this is a blatant breach of copywrite, and, whilst unlikely, this woman could be prosecuted for it. She certainly should not be praised for her actions in deliberately copying a trademarked logo.

Clever, but should have changed the font so less likely to be future trouble.

That is all well and good but I would think it is a copyright infringement. Why does it matter if you have a kmart bottle it does the same job.
