I loved all my Christmasses especially the ones I had before my mum passed away when I was 9. The one I remember most was when I married and cooked my first Turkey wasn't until it was ready and my husband started carving that I had cooked the plastic bag that was still inside the turkey containing the neck and other bits. Reason I didn't know was my aunties I had lived with had fresh birds but they did the plucking and cutting themselves
That's as good as my boiled eggs
Going into labour a month early on Christmas Eve just as we finished putting the presents under the tree.
Our youngest daughter was born at 10 30 am on Christmas morning.
So at Christmas we firstly celebrate her Birthday with her gifts, then open the Christmas gifts.
She has a birthday party with family and friends a few days early
So, did she get a smacked bum for coming early. Before she got the cuddle?♥️

My parents would take my 3 sisters , brother and can't forget me. A week out from Christmas Day would take all of us to Myer in Queen Street Brisbane CBD to look at all the Christmas windows with all the wonderful displays. After that it did feel like Christmas. Well, Myer has gone and so has the wonderful window displays. But Christmas is still here.
Myer Melbourne still has the window displays. Every year I took my children, nephews, and even their friends on a 1hr journey by train to see them. Some of their friends had not been on a train.

No they haven't been on trains cause most of the parents have cars. They most likely haven't been on trams either.❤️

My favorite memory of Christmas is when Mum cooked the pudding with all the 'Threepeices and Sixpences'.
We would find, It was a real treat and a Christmas Surprise for us as children🤶🎅
Yes it was very nice to get that Christmas pudding with the threepences and sixpences in them. I can remember that twice. One of the times we went to my grandparents and we laughed our heads off when my aunt and uncle opened their presents. My aunt opened hers and was embarrassed to find she'd got underpants meant for my uncle and he got underpants meant for the aunt. We thought it was hilarious 🎄🎄🎁🎁

😳Omg that’s sooooooooooo fn funny I’d love to have been there for that.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

one Year my brother came over for our famous Xmas lunch. My wife goes to a lot of work and we always make jokes and have a few drinks! I found an old apple core and starting wrapping it. And wrap and wrap. Then into a box then another box. After some time and much wrapping paper we end up with a present the size of a suitcase! It was hard to keep a straight face and I did lose it few times while he spent 10 mins unwrapping his present from Santa! Once reaching the old apple core and we’re all on the floor laughing I reminded him Xmas is all about giving! we always have a laugh about it….

It was very funny. Of course back then everyone was so straight laced, we got into trouble for laughing which made us laugh even more. To see the embarrassed looks on there face. When we went home it kept us awake just going over watching them open the presents. I don't know who made the stuff up or who gave the presents. Was funny. Last time I saw my grandmother🎁🎁🤣

I think in a way that we were evil people, just out for a good laugh wherever we could find them. We lived in a what was termed a garage. No bath, cooking mum used to cook on these kerosene cook things, can't remember what they were called. Anyway we had a copper in the back yard and dad used to. Get these coppers boiling so we could get water to was ourselves. Anyway Sunday morning mum and I cleaned the garage and we were standing at the window just looking out, dad comes into view with these 2 pots in his hand that he was filling with water for this copper. At the back door we had a shoe last holding the door open. Well me and my devious mind said to mum, wouldn't it be funny if dad tripped on that boot last. Dad fills the pots with water and on his way back to the copper, well he didn't get past the boot lasts, he tripped on it. All the water went over dad and he was soaked. Unluckily for me he heard what I said and he gets up soaked and makes a beeline for me. I got a couple of wacks but didn't do much as I was too busy laughing at him for tripping over this thing and getting soaked as these 2 pots let all this water go over dad and soaking him. Rotten little devil I was♥️

I was born in Finland and our Christmas was on 24th evening. We all waited when real live Santa Claus came to our home with presents . We had to tell Santa Claus that we had been really good otherwise we didn't get any presents . WE kids counted days when this real live Santa would arrive . Great memories Wonderful Christmas to young and old .

At least you have the memories of the beautiful Myers windows. Nothing takes away our beautiful memories. Take care and hope you have a wonderful Christmas 🎁 🎄 ❤️

My grandma who was widowed early in life always came to stay at christmas, and every christmas day my brother would wake me not long after midnight to tell me Santa had been I would then go and wake my Grandma up she had lots of fun with us opening and playing with the presents. Sadly I lost my husband 4 months ago, so this christmas will stay at my daughter's and am looking forward to being woken up in the middle of the night to help the kids unwrap and play with the their presents. I remember 1 year we got a wading pool and it was raining by mum and dad put it together in the kitchen so we played inside, and later when the sun came out they both tried to carry it outside when they tipped it over all over the kitchen floor and they couldn't stop laughing. We had so much fun and I'm determined to make my grandkids have very happy memories.

Sorry for your loss but he’ll be watching over you all and you’ll feel his presence I’m sure, and I hope you and your family have a beautiful Christmas filled with laughter and much joy.❣️

My best Christmas memory is Christmas eve 24th December 2007. It was the last Christmas we spent with our only daughter. We sat together with my daugter and she had her arms around me. We were all singing Christmas Carols. Next morning she cooked us her last Christmas dinner and it was delightful. We opened presents and I received a heritage teddy bear in a special heritage bear bag. This was the last time we would exchange presents. Our daughter was taken from us in the August of the following year (2008). She had the flu and was diagnosed with leukemia. She died 3 weeks after being diagnosed. Christmas was her very favourite time of the year and all the family used to gather at her home for Christmas breakfast and then Christmas dinner in the evening. No Christmas has been the same since we lost her. In fact it is a very sad time for us as we remember with fondness the Christmases we spent together. That is my most precious memory as long as I love.
