King Charles cuts off contact with Prince Harry amid growing ‘threat’

The British Royal Family, a symbol of tradition and stability, is facing a new chapter of discord as reports emerge that King Charles III has ceased communication with his son, Prince Harry.

This latest development in the ongoing saga between the Sussexes and the monarchy has sparked conversations and concerns among royal watchers and the public alike.

The rift between Prince Harry and his father, King Charles, appears to have widened, with the King reportedly taking drastic steps to distance himself from his youngest son.

According to sources, the Duke of Sussex's attempts to reach out via calls and letters have been met with silence, a stark contrast to the once close relationship shared between father and son.

The situation seems to have escalated following Prince Harry's visit to London in February, which was brief and reportedly strained.

The meeting, which lasted only 45 minutes, came amid news of the King's cancer diagnosis. Since then, opportunities for reconciliation have been notably absent, with Prince Harry attending the Invictus Games anniversary without a subsequent meeting with his father, who was hosting a garden party at the same time.

A friend of Prince Harry spoke to People magazine, revealing the depth of the estrangement.

‘He gets 'unavailable right now,’ they said.

‘His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the King's health, but those calls go unanswered too.’

He also described the current state of affairs as 'complete silence’.

The tension is further complicated by reports that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have used the prospect of King Charles never seeing his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as leverage.

The couple is said to be seeking state-funded security while in the United Kingdom, a request that has been met with resistance from the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC), which operates independently of the King.

‘Harry has lost his security case in court and is now trying the emotional blackmail route to get what he wants instead, cynically using the threat of Archie and Lilibet never meeting their grandfather again as a tactic to coerce the king into overruling Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC),’ a friend of the King said.

The Duke of Sussex's concerns for his family's safety were voiced in his ITV documentary Tabloids on Trial, where he expressed fear of potential acid or knife attacks against Meghan Markle should they visit the UK without proper security.

However, friends of both Prince Harry and Prince William have suggested that these concerns may be exaggerated, with one close to the monarch stating that the UK government would not permit such attacks to occur.

The impasse also seems to be fueled by Meghan Markle's desire for a formal apology from the Royal Family for what she perceives as mistreatment during her time as a working royal.

The Duchess of Sussex's relationship with the institution has been fraught since her departure, and the lack of resolution continues to cast a shadow over the family's dynamics.

Despite the deepening divide, sources close to Prince Harry have indicated that he remains hopeful for reconciliation.

‘Harry can't believe it ever got to this point—he genuinely thought that by now they'd have found a way to reconcile, and he hates to think of it continuing,’ a source said.
Key Takeaways

  • The quarrel between Prince Harry and the royal family has escalated, with reports suggesting that Harry is using the possibility of Charles not seeing his grandchildren as leverage for state-funded security in the UK.
  • The Duke of Sussex is said to be attempting emotional blackmail after losing his security case in court, according to a friend of the King.
  • Relations between the monarchy and the Sussexes remain strained, partly due to Meghan's demands for a formal apology and the couple's move to California after stepping down from royal duties in 2020.

Edward and his Mrs S were also rather over-friendly with Hitler and his horrible friends, including those in Nazi Germany' embassy in the UK. Perhaps he was genteely abdicated, and sensibly so.
My mother lived through that time and whatever went on it was done with some form of dignity. Even edward shut his mouth.

I had a massive falling out with my dad when I was just 17 over me seeing a much older man at the time. To get me away from my 'man', my father sent me to live with relatives in the UK and refused to speak to me for several years. Over time, he began to speak with me again. While in the UK, I married and we came back to live in Oz. All was good with my dad and I until my marriage broke down and I got back with my 'man' from when I was 17. Again, my dad dropped me like a hot potato and refused to speak to me, let alone even look at me. I had 2 small children by this time, but not once, did I ever play the blackmail card of "If you don't speak to me, you'll never see your grandkids again". It's not the kids fault or my dads' fault at how I felt for this man so why should they suffer for my happiness. My dad used to come and collect the kids every weekend and they spent wonderful times together. My ex had gone back to the UK by this time, which is why they weren't spending time with him instead. Dad must have had a long think about things as he came around one day and it was all sorted out and we all got on like a house on fire. Horrible things happen in families, sometimes they sort themselves out, sometimes they don't.
What is happening within the royal family is no different to the average family in the suburbs, their problem is that it is happening for the world to see. Personally, I believe Harry has brought all this on himself. She should have been told right from the get go that as a Royal, they need to be residing in the UK under UK laws and if she wasn't happy with that, then she should have packed her bags and gone back to the USA by herself.

The most sensible and understanding comment so far. Thankyou

Would anyone wonder why the royal family has had it with this pair.
They should just cut them off completely and remove their royal titles.
They wanted to live in America and have privacy, or so they said.
Just live there. If he's worried about being attacked in England well just don't go there, I don't think anybody will care too much.
What a nasty vindictive pair, using their children as leverage.
They've already deprived them of the life they should have been entitled to.
Just wish the media, etc would stop giving them air and just let them and their privacy ride off into the sunset, never to be heard of again.
May she take her strawberry iced jam with her

I think Meagan is the one pulling the strings. Harry is just a puppet, he does what she says. It was her that wanted to move back to America after she realised she wasn't going to "star" in the royal family. Goodbye, so sad, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
I agree and I think she will dump him as soon as someone else who can do more for her comes along !

Harry made his own bed and thinks everyone will just forget how he lied and ruined his relationship with the Royal family. I'm not sure he will ever accept any, if not all, responsibility for what he and his deputy Megan have done. Strip them of any remaining titles now! They abuse and use anything or anyone to get financial advantage. So sad really!

Meaghan doesn't know how to be a Royal and is too self centred to shut up, do some real good, and then apologise to the other royals, and then only then will she becomes a selfless human.
No doubt about that. How on earth could she have known what she was getting into is beyond me. It has been said that William did ask Harry to wait to be married and ease her into what the firm was all about. Noe excuses for her behaviour to them now though

Not sure why I get the occasional minute where I feel sorry for her business efforts that just don’t seem to be working.
Anything to keep herself in the limelight, this is how narcissists operate. It's all about them.
Not the strawberry jam, lol. It won't be long before she dreams something else up.
After all Harry just received millions from his grandmother's estate so they can't be that broke, though "keeping up appearances" can be very expensive.

I do get annoyed that she infers Charles is copying her. His honey and preserves were around when I visited over 3O years ago

This does sound very much like his uncle Edward VIII who abdicated for the love of his life, funny she too was an American.
Yes it is and another Royal besotted by an American who gave up his throne for love and ending up living in Paris.lt was said later that she hadn't wanted to marry him but he had announced it to the world and she had felt obliged to .Queen Elizabeth the late Queens mother never forgave them.Poor George had a stutter and didn't want to be king . The movie 'The Kings Speech' tells how he tries to overcome it.Turns out both Queen Elizabeth and King George were a great King and Queen
