Duchess’ regret: One thing she wishes she could undo amidst royal scrutiny

The fairy tale of marrying a prince and becoming a duchess has long been a dream for many, but for Meghan Markle, the reality of royal life has reportedly been a relentless challenge.

The Duchess of Sussex, who once graced our screens as the paralegal Rachel Zane on the hit TV series Suits, is said to yearn for the days before her royal title and the global scrutiny that came with it.

Millions around the world watched Meghan's transition from Hollywood actress to senior member of the British Royal Family.

Her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018 was a global event, celebrated and scrutinized equally.

However, less than two years into their royal roles, the Sussexes made the unprecedented decision to step back from their duties and move to California.

A source close to the Sussexes recently confided to OK! Magazine that Meghan misses the 'care-free' life she had before her royal engagement.

'Meghan has made no secret of how much she misses her carefree life when she was an actress, and while she’d never change what she has with Harry and the kids, there is a big part of her that she wishes she could just get her old life back,' the source revealed.

‘She loved being in Suits and all the opportunities it gave her. She’d get invited to all the exclusive events and get to hang out with Hollywood A-listers, but there was so much less scrutiny and attention, and there was no pressure on her.’

Meghan's struggles with the media and her quest for privacy have been well-documented.

In a candid moment at a film festival in Texas, she shared her strategy of avoiding social media to protect her mental health.

Adding to the Duchess's challenges, an upcoming German investigative documentary threatens to delve into her past, potentially stirring up more public interest and commentary.

Ulrike Grunewald's documentary for the ZDF network aims to provide an in-depth look at Meghan's life before her royal chapter.

The production team has even travelled to Montecito, California, to speak with Harry and Meghan's neighbours to gain insight into the couple's private life.

However, the project has hit a snag, with the production team pausing to seek legal advice over the content.

‘The team wants to make sure that everything used on Meghan Markle is correct,’ they said.

‘Every detail will be checked and double-checked to ensure that it is legally sound and factually correct.’

In related news, Meghan Markle faced social media backlash after a video surfaced showing her seemingly telling a woman not to stand next to Prince Harry at a polo event.

The widely discussed incident has led some to label the Duchess's behaviour 'rude'. Read more about this news here.

I can't imagine the distress and anguish that constant paparazzi would cause.. it drove poor Diana crazy as it would anyone, and she was the most photographed woman in the world. No privacy or quiet moments away from home would be awful. But Megan is an actress - craving the camera, silverscreen, headlines and popularity. This is the life she chose before she married so why is she complaining?

I would love a simple quiet life. In my family l wear many hats. Which at times becomes overwhelming and causes me a lot of health issues.
I have found there is always one in a family who is the go to person the one who carries all the responsibilities. When l am asked from my husband. What would you like for a birthday gift? I say what l would love won't cost anyone a cent. Just to live a life of peace.
As for Meaghan she is a public figure it comes with the life it must be dreadful.
Kind regards to all Vicki

Firstly MM is not a royal, no matter how much she pretends to be.

She and her husband relinquished their right to claim royal status when they refused to perform any of the duties of that status.

Royalty is a job and like all jobs, if you don't do the work you don't keep the status.

As for 'wanting a quiet life', South Park got it right when they satirised the way these former royals travelled the world doing interviews and public events to 'defend their privacy'.

If they wanted privacy then they should have stayed at home out of the limelight.

They don't want privacy, they want fame, wealth and power.

The power to take down the royal family and replace them as ...
'The most famous and influential family on earth.'

She does appear to be fake. Wants everything her own way. Obviously never considered how her life was expected to change by marrying into the royal family.
I think she had expectations that she would be top dog (or cat) and run the whole royal family to her liking. She then found that everyone in that family has to pull their weight, and when she realised there's only one head of family and she would never be it; she had a sulk at having to be so far down the line and having to walk behind Princess Catherine and her children...

She could have had a full and happy life if she had just realised she was not as big a draw as Diana and never would be -- even Diana's shine wore off for many people.

100%.
What did she expect when she married into the royal family.
As for privacy, what a joke. They do nothing but court publicity.
Harry is a weak fool, using his defence of his wife to abandon his duties and boohoo about how hard done by he is.

Markle should be forced to walk behind the Royal Horses....barefooted.

Totally Agree

It will be interesting to see if the German expose will actually include the reality of this charlatan. Will it include her 'dealings', machinations, involvements in the worlds of Wienstien and Epstien? or her catalogued time as Yatch Girl? Will it bring to life the 20 plus year old Daughter? watch this space. Why? you ask, with the way this formerly useful and enjoyable morning read has degenerated! It is becoming more like s second rate gossip rag daily
