Well , It has been coming for a long time . Beer was always known as the working man's drink . I actually gave up drinking probably about 5 years ago . Very occassionally , I will buy a sixpack of Great Northern Zero . I find it has the taste of real beer , is refreshing and at 76 , having had many the hangover , I have no regrets next morning . Well for a start they were in Manly - more money than sense.
Then they ordered two different microbrewery beers, one from Byron Bay (Stone & Wood) and the other from Manly (4 Pines). Both of these are in limited supply so come at a premium price. I suspect there were other cheaper brands on sale but if not they got what they paid for.

Manly, and the majority of the Northern Beaches region is a significantly cheaper region to live then a lot of more salubrious regions of Sydney and we would have a lower income population then many other Sydney suburbs.
For example, just check the price of petrol and you just might find that our prices are significantly cheaper then many other regions.

Manly may not be the most expensive region in Australia, but Manly and Palm Beach would of course be near the top of the food chain but the other NB suburbs are now not far behind. Compare for example the median weekly income of Mosman at $2892 and NB $2592 and the average mortgage in Mosman $3870 and NB $3124. All figures from ABS! It is expensive to live on the Northern Beaches.

You think that's expensive I recently ordered a hamburger from the Alfred hotel in Camperdown $10 ok, got off light, now wait for it I then ordered a Schooner of lemon, lime and Bitters total bill was $25 bucks that's $15 bucks for a soft drink from a mixer tap. Luckily I don't live in Sydney any more.
