Air fryer apple pie bombs

Air Fryer Apple Pie Bombs are biscuits filled with apple pie filling, cooked in an air fryer until golden brown, and covered in an apple pie spice and sugar coating.

Servings: 16 apple pie bombs

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • 3 teaspoons apple pie spice
  • 1 can (8-count) Pillsbury Grand biscuits, not flaky layers
  • 1 cup (243 g) apple pie filling, with apples cut into small pieces
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  • In a medium-size bowl, mix the sugar and apple pie spice. Set aside.
  • Remove the biscuits from the can and peel to separate each into two layers. Press each layer of biscuit into a 4-inch circle. (You will have 16 circles.)
  • In a small bowl, combine the apple pie filling with cinnamon. Mix to combine.
  • Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the apple pie filling and cinnamon mixture into the center of each circle.
  • Use your fingers to fold the sides together, pinching to seal. Roll into balls.
  • Spray the basket of an air fryer with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Working in batches, place the balls into an air fryer basket about 2 inches apart. Spray the tops with cooking spray.

  • Air fry at 350°F for 8-9 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Carefully remove the balls from the air fryer, dipping each in melted butter.
  • Roll each dipped apple pie bomb into the apple pie spice and sugar mixture. Repeat with the remaining batches.
  • Serve immediately or at room temperature.

Americans biscuits are the same as we call scones. You won't be able to get similar here.
They usually make savoury biscuits (scones) and have them as a side item with their dinner.
Babybird could tell us what you used in lieu of these biscuits when you made them.

Never heard of, or seen, Pillsbury Grand biscuits in a tin. Guess this must be an American recipe..
Absolutely! I don't know why American recipes with ingredients that we can't purchase here are being posted on this site. It's becoming rather annoying!

It does make me wonder if those recipes have actually been made!
More than likely NOT as I'm on numerous recipe site being a "recipe addict" (because I love cooking) and most of them are reposted from other various sites. I NEVER repost recipes because it's like they're already on a merry-go-round and I see them all the time which becomes rather annoying with the amount of "cheats".

And when are you going to post your “original” recipes on here also ann look 👀 forward to yours also.🎅
I don't have any original recipes. But if I did post a recipe here I would make sure that I have made it first and that all the ingredients are available in Australia. This is not the first recipe I have read here that contain an American ingredient that is not available here. I have made several of the recipes posted here and have enjoyed them. I don't know why your query involves original recipes. The above recipe is not an original by the poster. She has given credit to the person whose recipe it is.

I was just asking out of interest as you said you love cooking so I thought you might have some original recipes. Thanks🎅

So when are you going to post your “original”recipes on here Josephine 👀 forward to them.🎅
I did say I'm a "recipe addict", not an "original recipe creator" as such, but have been known to tweak a LOT of recipes just the same as everyone else can do. I don't post my "tweaked recipes" because this game is "each to their own" and one never knows what creation they may come up with. My "recipe file" has thousands of recipes and I can add that we seldom have the same recipe twice because of the amount of recipes I have like for tonight I'm tweaking a Slow Cooker "Beef Daube Provencal". Sounds a bit fancy, originally cooked in a Dutch oven, but it's just another "Beef Stew" with my extra added vegies which I suppose means I've actually made "my own original". Hope you have a Merry Christmas tomorrow and a Prosperous New Year and likewise to ALL in the "Seniorsdiscountclub".

If you "tweak" a recipe then that recipe becomes "your original" anyway. The mind boggles with what one can come up with. Try it and you'll surprise yourself - just a little idea for you and have some fun tweaking.
