Of course this doesn't actually mean they will 'deliver' but just leave a note to tell you to go to the post office to pick up. I hate it when goods I purchase are sent by Aus Post - as I have never had anything actually delivered to me. Excuses like, unsure as to where to leave bike, too big to put on bike (??) When you think about the massive number of Parcels that they must handle across the whole of the Country at this special time of the year....I think that they do a good job overall, sure there are some that don't make their final destination on time, but certainly the majority appear to do so. The earlier that you post off your parcels for Christmas the better chance you have of them being delivered on time to your loved ones.

It is too much of a worry that the item will get to who it is meant to.
When close family members moved to Kalgoorlie, I sent a Xmas parcel once and it got there, but I was so stressed about it I changed my ways.
Now, the only things that go by mail at Xmas are cards. I do like sending them by mail.
My family moved back, close enough to make face to face contact.
If I find I need to buy a gift for someone who is out of my range, they get an E-gift card. Main reason for this is surety of delivery, and, confidence they will be used on things they like or need.
