This is disgusting. It is pure laziness. Is this what their taught them? Common decency is becoming uncommon these days. This is, in some ways, similar to people dropping rubbish on the ground when there is a bin 20m away. My wife and I carry our rubbish until we find a bin. Sometimes when we have been looking for a bin with rubbish in our hands, the locals would tell us that the bin is behind that tree etc.
Some people don't understand how good things are in Australia. In most other countries around the world, there is a lack of these facilities. One day this will happen here as well. Then people will whinge.
For example, we have free public toilets here but in most countries we had trouble finding them and then it costs to use them.
I don't know how to convey the message of decency to these sort of people.

If and when we need to use a public BBQ first we turn it on, let it heat up a bit, then throw some water on it before cleaning it with kitchen towels before using it. And the same after we’ve finished using it.

Reminds me of the occasion we took a bus load of youth from the Church away for a holiday. We booked into a facility owned by a school with dorms etc.
The first task was to clean the oven & grill before it could be used. This was in a similar condition to the BBQ in the photo. We do not know who previously rented this facility but obviously they didn't clean up their mess either.

These sort of conditions are breeding places for unwanted insects. Disgusting situation.

You would not even consider using a public BBQ if you have seen some of the things I have seen on them. Things like faeces, used condoms, rotten food, dirty nappies, etc have put me off using them for life.
