'Random' terrifying letter demands $20,000 and threatens entire housing block

Obviously a hoax. Anyone who receives anything like it should call the police immediately.

Uncover these brilliant discount tricks for your next online shopping!

My biggest complaint is the price variation from week to week, e.g. Jordan's Granola, $4.25 one week, $8.50 the second, $12.00 the next, then repeat the cycle. Woolies and Coles have identical pricing and I fail to understand how they could possibly justify such a wide range of pricing.

This minor mistake cost one grandmother over $3000 for a chicken sandwich!

Let's have some humanity and commonsense in matters like this. Typical heartless Govt. Dept.

Coles, Woolworths, IGA and ALDI affirm stance on supermarket self-serve checkouts

I detest them. Follow the US and UK and ditch them. Whatabout the theft and operational costs?

Strange new security gates at Coles are creeping out shoppers: ‘What’s going on here?’

They are looking at the theft problem all wrong, and complicating the entire shopping experience. As others have said, re-open service checkouts, employ people and get rid of self-serve, as a supermarket chain in the north of England has already done.

A Canadian visiting Australia can’t believe what unusual phrase everyone is saying!

I'd have thought "She's right, mate" is the most common varient.

Could your sleep apnoea mask with magnets be dangerous? TGA sounds new warning!

Not that problem but I have been ruled incompatible with CPAP machines, mainly because of excessive air leakage (probably anatomical) and an element of feeling suffocated.

Police arrest mum in her underwear over unpaid bill

It is unclear whether or when she paid the petrol bill. If not, she has only herself to blame.

Discover the 6 veggies a doctor believes everyone MUST include in their diet

Anything but broccoli or brussels sprouts! They are horribly incompatible with my taste buds....

Sudden price hike on bottled water leads to surprising discovery: ‘I'm being penalised if I recycle at home?’

As a South Australian, believe me the effect on family budget is negligible. OK the bottle cost is included at purchase, but you get it back if you're sensible and return containers to recycling depots.

Tricky driver’s licence question confuses test-taker: ‘So what did I do wrong here?’

As an experienced driver for over 60 years, I would give the same answer which I remain convinced is the correct one. What answer was given by the testing body?

This common beverage can help keep certain symptoms of type 2 diabetes at bay—do you drink this too?

I drink a mug of black unsweetened tea morning and night and am marginal type 2 diabetic. I also usually have a flat white unsweetened coffee midday or afternoon.

American takes a jab at Aussie parties and says to ‘skip the cheap part’

In my experience, that's nonsense. Maybe it's an east coast thing but not in South Australia.

Entrepreneur mum shares ‘uncomfortable’ market tactic customers do

I once tried haggling at Myers over a watch price, and nearly won until the salesperson jacked up and objected to my doing so: "You can't do that here!"

‘Gotta roll my eyes at this’: Big change to Woolworth's trolleys infuriates shoppers

I prefer small trolleys, better height, easier to manage, but maybe I don't buy as much as other people.

Overseas supermarkets ditched self-checkouts—should Coles, Woolworths, and ALDI follow suit?

Self-service is an abomination which must cost supermarkets millions in lost revenue. Why do they persist?

Pro-cash advocate exposes Australia's 'cashless society': ‘Our economy isn't inclusive anymore’

I have raised a couple of issues with the Reserve Bank lately querying apparently forgotten rules from when cards were first introduced, but can't get a straight answer. Merchants were advised that the fees banks charged them should be regarded as tax-deductible insurance premiums to guard...
