A recent video posted on social media shocked even the most loyal of Kmart shoppers, as it showed a section of the store filled with litter and rubbish.

The woman who posted the video said she was 'disgusted' by her visit to the beauty section of her local Kmart store.

In the video, items that had been opened and half-consumed were visible, as were shelves covered in shaving cream and unknown brown particles that could have been spilled beauty products. There was even an unfinished drink in a plastic cup with a straw left on a shelf, which would surely have appalled even the most hardened shoppers.

A Kmart employee jumped in the comments, saying that he had seen customers do it before and cleaned up after them so many times.

A spokesperson for Kmart Australia has responded to the video and said the team is working hard to ensure all stores remain up to standard.


'At Kmart, we want everyone to have an enjoyable shopping experience every time they visit us in-store. We have done a lot of work on merchandising our beauty area across all of our stores, including updating the packaging of many of our products to avoid mess,' the Kmart spokesperson said.

'It appears this instance is “an exception to our beauty area standards”, and we always welcome any customer feedback to ensure our stores look their best and our customers have a great shopping experience,' the spokesperson added.

It just shows what disgusting people we have living in Australia now. No respect for anyone or anything.
 
What time of the day was this video posted? As already asked, was it reported before this video was taken or at all?
We are aware staff numbers in stores have been cut to the bone, therefore as a member stated, staff don't have time to walk around looking for these issues.
I feel it is irresponsible if a person sees something & does not bring it to the attention of a staff member, even if this means walking to the front SERVICE DESK.
An unrelated incident perhaps was yesterday when we received 3 deliveries of the same junk mail. 6 pamphlets inserted inside one pamphlet. One del. at approx 8.40 am was removed from the letterbox & 1/2 an hour later 2 bundles of the same leaflets were rec'd. I worked for this company years ago & advised them of this fact adding that they may be new & had not read their delivery map correctly & l did not want to get them into any trouble. I was thanked & told they would be made aware of the mistake.
The hardest part was not knowing which of the many l'box delivery companies had this contract but this was worth the effort. Too often it appears, people say, 'it's not my problem" or "l can't be bothered" or "l don't want to get involved".

Years ago there was a booklet titled "Your Rights" which is no longer around. It was a extremely useful and informative publication which i have never seen on sale since the days of Bob Hawke .. it shed the light on so many any aspects of our daily lives and was a huge asset.
