Woolworths launches exciting 'Dine In' trial you can't miss!

Hungry for something new? Woolworths is cooking up a storm, and you're invited to join the feast.

As the dining landscape undergoes a rapid transformation, Woolworths refuses to lag behind in the culinary revolution.

In a bold move that's set to tantalise the taste buds of millions of Aussies, Woolworths has confirmed a major new trial aptly named 'Dine In', which is rolling out in 100 stores across selected states.

Now, let's dive into what this 'Dine In' trial is all about.

Imagine walking into your local Woolies and being greeted by a smorgasbord of ready-to-cook meal options that promise to deliver a restaurant experience right in the comfort of your home.

This is precisely what some Woolworths stores in New South Wales and Victoria offer with their new range of 35 convenient and affordable meal options, perfect for the oven or air fryer.

Woolworths has got you covered for those nights when you're craving a hearty meal but don't have the time or energy to prepare one from scratch.

The 'Dine In' section includes a full dinner package, such as a 1.6kg feast featuring a whole roast chicken, herb roasted potatoes, corn cobs, and carrot and pumpkin wedges, all for a wallet-friendly price of $25, or $6.25 per serving.

If pasta is more your style, they've got a 1.2kg meat lovers pasta bake for $20, or $5 per serving.

The best part? All these options are designed to be ready in 35 minutes or less.

Early sales already indicated a few crowd favourites, and it's not hard to see why. These favourites include:
  • Mexican chicken with vegetables 1.6kg
  • Chicken parmigiana with mash and vegetables 1.6kg
  • Spanish paella 1.2kg
Woolworths Merchandise Manager for Chilled Meals, Matt Harbich, said, ‘We wanted to give our customers that feeling of a Friday night at the local pub or Italian restaurant in the convenience of their home, and importantly at an affordable price.’

He added, ‘Our Dine In range is intended to cater to busy and budget-conscious customers who are looking for quick and easy meals for their families, that both kids and their parents will love. Convenience meals are not new. However, we’ve come very far from the bland microwave dinners of the past.’

Woolworths Merchandise Manager said, ‘Pre-made meals are getting tastier and better, and we have the benefit of our Woolworths Food Company team and supplier partners being able to create a range of tasty and hearty options for us to bring to market to test and learn based on current food trends. This allows us to continue to evolve the range based on what our customers want.’

As the trial progresses, Woolworths plans to listen closely to customer feedback and expand the range, adding more products and bringing the 'Dine In' experience to additional stores.

For those eager to know if their local store is part of this exciting trial, we’ve prepared a complete list of participating stores in NSW and Victoria.

Wondering if they will create these as a meal for one. Like myself there are many living alone and often we have to bin ingredients as we didn't get to use them in time. Likewise we do not always have all ingredientrs for an entire meal. People suggest frozen dinners, but they just aren't the same and generally tasteless.

I agree, they don't taste as good as home cooked meals!

As a single pensioner can the meals use a portion only and the rest be put in the fridge?
I would be more inclined to cooking the whole meal and then freezing in seperate portions, but again, they do not taste the same reheated as freshly cooked.

Douglas, if you want to do that, portion out into separate freezer containers immediately after purchase and freeze till required.
Defrost in the fridge overnight for use the next day. Make sure your reheated food reaches 75degrees before eating.

When Woolworths or any of our supermarkets can offer what Tescos and the supermarkets in the UK offer for the same money then I'll be happy. Here is an example of Tesco's offering. Beat that Woolworths!

£12 will buy you a choice of a main meal, eg roast meat, fish etc, a choice of vegetables, a choice of potatoes ie chips, roast, dauphinoise and a choice of puddings, plus the choice of a bottle of wine, or soft drinks. This is for 2 people. £12!

I always used to go for M&S .They've always had nice food. although I've tried all the others as well.
That chicken meal they've quoted above works out as £13.
