Woman transformed her old worn lounge using $12 Kmart buy

One thrifty shopper shared photos on Facebook showing how she transformed her old faux leather lounge into a brand new looking lounge using an unlikely $12 item from Kmart!
Heather was thinking of throwing away the worn furniture when she discovered that she could make use of charcoal grey tablecloths from Kmart along with a few staples.
The original L-shaped cream couch was so overused that the surface was flaking away, obviously needing restoration.
“So the 'leather' couch started flaking so badly, rendering the couch useless,” wrote Heather in her Facebook post.
“Kmart tablecloths and a staple gun, and we got a few more years out of the couch!”
Heather described her restoration process in the comments section.
First, she removed as much of the flaky faux leather from the couch as possible. Then, she stapled the tablecloth over the surface.
“The cushions were attached to the couch, so I stapled underneath and through to behind cushions,” she added.
“The cushions are not separately recovered but look like one long cushion in the finished couch.”
The social media post went viral just after three days, with more than 18,000 people liking and commenting on Heather’s post.
“Looks awesome! Great job, saved yourself over $2,000 on a new lounge,” wrote one person.
“Wow, that's absolutely amazing!” said another.
A third added: “What a smart transformation! Love the fact that you totally turned it into a new looking piece of furniture rather than throwing it and buying something new!”
Many more Facebook users commented that they were inspired by the idea instead of just throwing out their old couches.
Kmart’s Charcoal Linen-look Tablecloth is available in-store or online.
Talk about a transformation! We almost didn’t recognise the lounge. Who knew tablecloths could work magic off the table?
