On to something totally different if l may. My grand-daughter Angelina who is staying with me but goes back today and taking my other grand-daughter Ella with her for a holiday was 18 on the 22nd Jan. Anyway she went for her driving test at 12pm today and passed first time.We are all so pleased for her. l know l go on forever and a day :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Just wanted to share.
We will miss them both.
She's driving, she'll be back soon.

I think a good subject would be menopause, for the ladies that have gone through it, did you go through it early and how did you fare, and for the men whose wives have gone through it, how did they and you cope?
I went through it early, in my late 40s and it was a doddle, a few sweaty nights but my doctor put me on pills for that so it wasn't too harsh. Not many bad moods either, only my usual temper tantrums I have on occasion when he pisses me off 😂

Iv'e got over 100 beanie babies from when my partner worked back in the early to mid 2000's. He'd buy me one a week and he was looking on Ebay yesterday to see what they were worth. One Angel one went for $90,000, yes, that's ninety thousand.
I have two Angel ones but I haven't checked to see if it's one of those yet.
All of my bears still have the tags on them too which makes them more valuable, although i'd be loath to part with them but for even $50 each i'd get a nice tidy profit.
That is amazing, it is incredible when we look around our homes at the money that is lying around collecting dust. Of course, as my dad used to say, something is only as valuable as someone else will pay for it.
I have a Red Tulip chocolate box full of old drive in tickets. Who remembers Red Tulip chocolate ?

Isn’t it amazing the amount of stuff we collect? I used to keep the programmes & tickets from the ballet & live shows that we had been to until I was cleaning up one day & discovered them. I very sadly recycled them all. I used to love Red Tulip Chocolate, hadn’t thought about them for ages.
My mum, having lived through the depression & war had kept all sorts of amazing, useful things that my sister & I discovered when clearing out her things. There was even a jar full of the cotton wool that Pharmacists used to put in pill bottles, string and rubber bands, even fabric scraps from clothes we had sewn while still living at home.

Sorry Athena but both Suzannes and my suggestions hold no interest.
Athena this is the second time you have asked us but nothing materialises
I`m fairly new at social forums, I have been slightly put off when I have read critisism from a few members about other`s opinions, as we are all different and we can often learn from each other. Other than that I would like to hear some more personal stories as some folks don`t often have anyone to use as a sounding board. And sometimes it is so lonely trying to work out particular problems. I have found that most of us have very simular issues to contened with! What do you think??
Sherril don't be put off by others nasty opinions they just have a problem with being nice.

What I would like to see is the State related articles saying the State in the headline. I get put out when I click on what looks like an interesting item only to find out that it relates to NSW or WA, and nothing to do with Queensland.

Sherril welcome to the forum and Ebby has given good advice. I would really love to be able to discuss things rationally without the nastiness. Please don’t lose heart, a lot of us will support you as it’s so good to consider others opinions, it’s how we learn & grow.

I would like to see more about ORGANIC home gardening tips and tried and true home made fertiliser and bug repellents.

My first input to this would be not to use cooked food scraps or animal scraps of any kind and although crushed or grounded egg shells are excellent for garden mulch they must be rinsed well before hand.

What a good idea Gail. Maybe you can inspire me to be more involved with the garden. I do weed a bit & deadhead the roses but leave it to my husband. Though I did have to plant the tomatoes one year because Ted was recovering from head surgery & I still remind him that they were the best we’d ever grown. We won’t dwell on many years ago when I planted rows of onions & got upset because they kept falling over, I tried so hard to make them stand up. 😂
I know my husband would enjoy any tips that avoid using chemicals. Maybe a special gardening corner is required Athena.

Yes, I agree. There's already a Gardener's Corner forum.

We sure will support you . Although l must admit a cheeky remark does add a bit of spice to the conversation as long as it's not nasty

G'day, member @Still Ebby! Thank you so much for the suggestions! We're currently working on incorporating these changes in our newsletters. So far, we have featured more local stories in last week's newsletters. If there's anything specific you'd like us to feature immediately, please feel free to leave me a message directly and we'll do our best to put it in the next one :)

I remember having a double pram with two babies inside, one one the hood and one standing at the front.

You had said you got locked out of sdc which is why you are now still ebby , is that right ?
@Littleboy8 can't log in, which is why she hasn't been on here for 2 weeks.
Thanks for letting us know @Suzanne rose . I sent @Littleboy8 an email.

I sent you an email, too. If you could kindly check. Thank you!

On the subject of what I would like to see in the SDC it would be a dedicated thread to the winners in here. I often go looking to see who has won gift certificates or money etc but I can never find a list, if they were all put in the one section we could all go in and congratulate them :)
