What’s the most impressive physical thing you’ve ever done?

Climbed a mountain? Lifted a grandkid? Danced for four hours at a wedding? Or maybe you lifted a box you probably shouldn’t have? Climb a ladder with one leg and a broom in the other? Wrestle with your grandkid and lose?

I want all the glorious details here!

Back in the dim, distant past in the UK when I was 12 our swim team was short of members so at one meet (and on the same day) I swam the 12yr old race(1st), 13yr old (1st), 14yr old (2nd), 15yr old (2nd) and 16yr old (3rd). I was also part of the freestyle relay team and we came in 1st and the medley relay (2nd). At the end of my last race the team trainer had to jump in and I had to be lifted out of the water and carried to the changing rooms. my body just refused to work any more. Still, it was a good day with a good medal haul and led to me swimming for the county. That lasted until I was 17 and discovered boys, dancing, ten pin bowling and ice skating (not necessarily in that order)!! ;) :)

In my early fourties’ my husband asked me to do a skydive with him, will be good for bonding he said haha, we both jumped with our instructors just fabulous, On landing I broke my ankle, ouch. Really good for bonding he got a really good taste of housework and cooking. Hahaha

Omg you should have been an Olympian. Yep it's always the boys !!

On many a time when holding parties 🥳 eg 21st , bridal showers I did a marathon cooking session of 3 days sleeping maybe 4 to 5 hours a night.
People were always amazed at how much I cooked and how good it was.

Why did I do this and not get it catered, easy I spent $5000 on the caterer once and the food was not enough and not that nice. I could have made it for under $500 and much better.

I always had a long list of what I was making and a list of the order I was making the food.

I then used everyone's fridges

In the end I was exhausted but was well worth it.

Now for functions each one of my 8 daughters cook a few dishes and it's done.

Ah something else I did was in the 80s I was an aerobics instructor for John Valentines and participated in a marathon class of 4 hours and finished it

This was one of my easiest spreads. My daughters baby shower

I played in an Australian Seniors golf championship at Elanora Country Club in my age group. We played each day for 5 days and on the last day I played a lady off a 6 handicap when I was on 12 handicap and managed to win my age group. I thank my dear friend who was my caddie. Robyn Noonan

Love golf. Don’t play any where that well.

Back in 1981 I was recovering from being in medical coma from Murry Valley Encephalitis, an mosquito born viral infection of the brain, which nearly killed me. The most strenuous and frustrating thing was teaching myself to write and walk again. The medical fraternity were astounded at my recovery, with no mental capacity lost. Some would say otherwise? Ha! Ha! I was age 26 back then and I am as silly now as I was back then! Every day is a bonus and I am doing a Benjamin Button! I thank the Lord God every morning I open my eyes to a new day! Amen! & Amen!

I too along with my husband and some friends, competed in the fun run although it was called the Colour Run, one of my friends walked with me while my husband and the other two friends left us behind saying see you at the finish line, it was lovely to see so many people of all ages, we took our time became very colourful and got there in the end, completely worn out and exhausted, but it was so fantastic to finish something that I never thought I would be able to complete. My friend and I even got our picture in the Advertiser. This was as the saying goes many moons ago but it is something I will never forget being able to do.

Since my husband has a motorised wheelchair and we don't have a car for longer trips we go by maxi taxi but every day we go walking. The other day we went from Kippa Ring station (North Brisbane) to the jetty at Redcliffe. I thought at the time this is a long way and just found out it was 4.1km. I also walked from home to the station both ways so all in all I did 7kms that day - not bad for an oldie!

Greetings and thank you.
Yes, here's the activity that I so enjoyably did as a younger man! It was Water Skiing long distance on a single Ski on the Murray River non stop from the town of Murray Bridge to the town of Mannum and back again! It was a wonderful and exhilarating experience.
