This wedding guest’s dress causes outrage on social media for being too ‘racy’

We know that weddings are becoming more and more relaxed these days, with couples ditching a lot of the traditional rules and expectations in favour of doing things their own way.

However, even though times are changing, there are still some things that people generally consider to be inappropriate for a wedding – like wearing white if you’re not the bride, being too rowdy during the ceremony, or in this case, wearing a risqué dress in a church.

Weddings are a time to celebrate love and commitment, but they can also be a source of drama – especially when it comes to what guests wear.

And recently, a woman was slammed on social media for wearing a racy dress that others deemed as ‘trashy’ and ‘tacky’.

The photo was posted in a Facebook group, and the original poster shared that a guest wore the dress to a conservative, church wedding.

The thigh-length dress featured see-through fabric that wrapped around the woman’s torso, with the bust being the only part that was covered.

Social media users were upset over the woman’s choice of clothing, and many described it as something one would wear to a nightclub and not a church wedding.

‘This dress is ugly first of all, and secondly, it’s not appropriate for a wedding, especially one in a church,’ one replied to the post.

Another said that it was a ‘trashy-looking dress’ for any wedding. While a third responded with: ‘There is a time and a place and this is tacky. I say this as someone who goes clubbing. Also, the dress is just ugly.’

Someone else admitted that there’s nothing wrong if the woman wanted to make a ‘statement’ by wearing a ‘clubbing outfit’ to a church, but wearing something too revealing at someone else’s wedding is too much.

‘There’s nothing wrong with the dress itself (except that it looks poorly-made and ill-fitting), but it’s “inappropriate” in a similar way that wearing sweatpants or white is inappropriate for a wedding,’ another user explained.

‘Yes, these are “silly” societal rules, but rules that you should stick to protesting at your own wedding,’ the same person added.

Someone else claimed that they’d heard of priests not letting people inside the church because their attire was deemed inappropriate.

‘I’m not for extreme rules, but if you’re entering a church of any kind, you should have some respect and dress properly,’ they said.

However, others couldn’t find fault in the outfit. One Facebook user wrote: ‘There is absolutely nothing disrespectful about wearing this dress to a church.’

A second added: ‘Maybe the conservative church-goers should stop being so offended by everything.’
Key Takeaways

  • A wedding guest has been slammed over her see-through racy dress, with some describing it as ‘trashy’ and ‘tacky’.
  • The mini-dress featured see-through panels in the torso, with the bust being the only part of her torso that was covered.
  • Facebook users were unimpressed by the look, describing it as something you'd wear to a nightclub, not a wedding.
  • However, some thought the dress was perfectly fine for the event, with one user commenting, ‘There is absolutely nothing disrespectful about wearing this dress to a church’.
What do you think about the dress, members? Do you agree that it’s too racy or is it okay to wear to a wedding? Let us know your thoughts!

To me it is fine. We can't be old fashioned forever.

Well 🤷🏻‍♀️as with everything she can’t expect everyone to think she’s fine, just as people can’t go getting upset on a social media page
I just know you take your cue from the company you’re mixing with…so you yourself don’t feel different/rejected/talked about etc
If you want to cause a stir you do it, if you want to blend you don’t do it…simples

By her body and her partner’s head, (we can’t see the faces), they seem to be a bit pass their 50’s. So I don’t think it’s appropriate that dress on her.
Even for younger ones, it’s a bit immodest. But that’s my personal opinion. These days, some women display their bodies anywhere. So sad!!
Not much to hide, is there?

what has this trashy story have to do with seniors and discounts? A lot of the stuff reposted here have really no use on a supposed club forum for seniors/pensioners wanting lower costs relating to shopping groceries etc. Seems like the crowd running this are twenty somethings whose only avenue of interest is tik tok, etc most of the stuff here I've already bypassed on fb the day before.

It was interesting to see the other day when I ran the domain name through whois Jonathan had re registered it to his name /org rather than the US data gathering service that had it and other previously registered domains?

Is it just me or is everyone's junk mail folder suddenly tripled after joining this mob? mine has

On some occasions there is a dress code that maybe required by the host that all guests must wear. Weddings are one of those occasions. For the bride and groom the wedding day is extremely important and they usually like their guests to comply with the dress code. Note that group photos are taken at the weddings and one or two non-compliant dress codes tend to "spoil" the photos for the couple. It is unclear from the article whether there was a dress code for this wedding, so I can't comment on the appropriateness of the dress for this wedding. The dress does not look good to me at all. I am not concerned about churches.
Recently I attended a formal wedding where even the kids were formally dressed i.e. black suit and tie. This dress code was very clearly communicated in the wedding invite, to the extent that dress code was described in some detail. Women and girls were in amazing dresses. Everyone looked fantastic. But then one guy turned up in casual clothing, not even in a suit. That was totally inconsiderate and inappropriate. There were a few people who commented on it. But that is the way some people are, they don't consider the impact they have on the hosts of their actions. It is all about them. You can't change them no matter what!

I would much rather see a dress that fits and covers most parts, than the ones that have very little holding a whole lot in. Exposed breasts and crotches are ugly. This dress may not be everyone's taste, but it is her choice and I think she wears it well.
