I must be more clever than I thought, got them all right. :)

Happy New Year to All. I sincerely hope 2022 is better than 2021.🥳🥳

Not sure about how important the actual dates are - those are really trivial :) I suspect it would be more pertinent (and even shocking) if the question was, "Which member of royalty died this year?" As scientific as I am, the severity of the earthquake is far more trivial than, "What two states of Australia have had significant earthquakes this year?" (Hey, do YOU know?)
I have watched programmes like "Millionaire Hot Seat" where people have lost based on not knowing what some obscure pop group replaced their drummer - designed to remove a candidate ... or discover someone with a weird fetish for knowing everything about lesser-known pop bands!
Disclaimer: knowing "Who was promoted in the batting order and played third bat for Australia who made a century and saved the match back in the 80's is an exception - that should almost be a requisite for school History!

Not sure from your response if you're for or against trivia. It's only a bit of harmless fun and lets not forget that one persons trivia is another's vital information. Luckily we can't all be experts at everything or even have the same interests.

Totally agree - one person's poison is another's fascination with some item of trivia (mine is on data re our Solar System). Trivia is fun - it's all about exercising our minds and enjoying actually learning ! (It was also vital for the contestant on "Millionaire" last night - he won $50 000 because he knew something absolutely trivial! :)
