I read your response to @Ricci's post and couldn't resist responding, as I'm going through the same pain under similar circumstances. My "loss" is two daughters. I too have not heard a word from either, over 14 years. I know they both live in Melbourne and also are on Linked.
I heard one getting married last year, but that's it.
