I have to say no and if I did I would ask for the manager and point it out and tell him how dangerous it is , then if I saw it on a regular basis I would report it to head office

This is not the way most supermarkets leave their aisles when stocking. They may have a newbie on but that is the fault of the management. These new team members should be trained in better practices.

Just wondering if perhaps this pic was taken just as the store was opening for the day. It looks more like an aisle would during a night fill, maybe the staff were slightly behind and hadn't finished their tasks. However, yes, it is dangerous for customers.

A problem I have found at Woolworths (but certainly not to this degree). A lot of items now are stacked on the shelves still in the boxes with the front and tops cut off for access (faster stacking means cheaper stacking). So when the boxes are empty and a customer goes for the box behind some just drop the empty box on the floor - I’ve seen it happen. I try to find a spare space on a shelf nearby or on the top of the shelf, otherwise I toe it under the shelving with just a little bit sticking out so staff know it needs picking up. And let the service desk know the aisle needs attention. I think the supermarkets need to go back to stacking items directly on the shelves and taking the cardboard away as they do it… like they used to. Will only take a couple of injuries to customers .. or staff … and insurance pay outs for them to tidy up their act … but it shouldn’t need to come to that

If I'm in my local Woolies just before closing time, teams of Packers appear with laden trolleys as they descend on an aisle at a time.
Someone goes through tidying the shelves, checking stock, pulling older stock to the front, dropping empty boxes to the floor.
Then the huge trolley is wheeled into the aisle, and the empty shelves are restocked.
Then a pick-up person comes along and tidies up the debris off the floor.
Hugely efficient.
Very quick, minimal disruption to anybody as the store is almost empty.
If I need something from the aisle being attended to, they get what I want or clear the way for me.

If I see a potential trip hazard anywhere I try and remove it.
Pulling out my phone to record and complain helps no one.
I would have grabbed an empty trolley, put the cardboard in, parked it at end of aisle and moved on. (But then I’m 66 years old. Born before common sense was bred out of humanity.)

It may not have been a workers fault. My daughter who works for Coles says customers often throw empty boxes on the floor and the other week they had a child who went round throwing things off the shelves. If you see this you should either pick it up or report it to a staff member.

Had an instance in Coles where trying to dodge 2 parked order trolleys (very large) I fell over a stool used to stock top shelf. I ended up bottom first in the shelving, my knees around my ears, couldn't get out. Kept calling out for help but only a shopper came to my help. Went to the 'desk' and reported it (in case I had an injury) to an under manager who rushed away, came back and told me I was telling lies as there was no trolleys in the aisle. I was stunned. Obviously staff heard the ruckus and rushed out of the staff room nearby and removed the offending articles. Not a good experience. I felt such a fool backside first in the shelving and then being called a liar.
