I usually buy 1 x 3ltr Woolies lite milk and maybe 4 or 5 ltrs of the same but in UHT. That way I can stretch out the time between shopping trips. I buy 2 loaves and freeze one for the same reason. For many years now it has been expensive to buy ‘healthier’ products. Is it more expensive to produce? If we find something has gone up in price unreasonably we could ask the retailer. Or, as I have done, don’t buy it! Yes, I know we prefer to buy a certain product, but it appears that it is being harder to do so unfortunately. The big retailers will pay lip service to your queries/concerns, but usually do nothing about it. It appears to me that Woolworths are steadily replacing our favourite products with their own. Coles has the cheek to do TV promotions "Prices Locked" what a joke, they've increased every single item several times in the last 12 months. Heinz baked beans large cans were $4.50 for a 3 pack, they then went to $5.00, then to $7.50, then they stopped selling the three pack for a while and priced individual cans at $3.20. I simply refused to buy them as I'm sure many shoppers did. They've made the 3 pack available again but it was PURE GREED, their overhead costs wouldn't have seen many increases, they were trading during the entire pandemic and shelves were emptied. No big surprise to read "Coles recorded a 4.3 per cent increase in profit to $1.05 billion!
