Shocking Uber Eats glitch: Woman orders Macca’s and receives an unbelievable surprise!

When hunger strikes and the craving for a juicy burger hits, the convenience of food delivery apps like Uber Eats can be a lifesaver.

This was the case for Mel, an Uber Eats customer who expected to sink her teeth into a delicious Double Big Mac from Macca's but was met with an unexpected twist.


Mel's anticipation turned to disbelief when she opened her delivery and found nothing but an empty box staring back at her.

The culprit? A bizarre glitch in the Uber Eats app that somehow deselected every ingredient of her burger.

Taking to social media to share her unusual experience, Mel wrote, ‘There was a glitch in the Uber Eats app and somehow deselected every ingredient. Macca's staff must have thought I was cooked and just sent me an empty box.’

The receipt told the tale of the missing burger, with a total of eight ingredients having been removed.

While the situation might have seemed humorous to some, with one social media user joking that there should have been at least one beef patty left, the reality was a dinner disaster for Mel.

This isn't the first time a McDonald's order has gone awry in Western Australia.

Just weeks earlier, a pregnant woman was left with an unsatisfied appetite and an empty wrapper after ordering a sausage McMuffin for breakfast.

Her boyfriend took to social media to express their confusion and frustration, especially since the order was supposed to be straightforward with no modifications.

The fast-food chain's Maylands store had included a note explaining their logic: ‘Sausage egg has egg, muffins, sausage and cheese. It's a no for everything so we have just given the wrapping.’

However, the boyfriend clarified that they had ordered a regular sausage McMuffin, not a sausage and egg McMuffin, and certainly not one devoid of all contents.


These incidents raise questions about the reliability of food delivery apps and the communication between these services and the restaurants fulfilling the orders.

While technology has undoubtedly brought convenience into our lives, it's clear that it's not without its glitches and hiccups.

My first and only experience with menulog. A Maccas order, supposed to arrive in one hour fifteen minutes, really, Maccas is ten minutes away. Arrived over two hours later, delivered by Maccas delivery driver. Total wrong order. I phoned, they already knew, the other person must have phoned before me, they were repacking order as I rang, we would have it in fifteen minutes. Yeh right, after another forty five minutes the same Maccas delivery driver showed up with our correct order. It was totally cold, so can only assume she did lots of other orders before ours. all apologies, maccas was so busy she said. Must have been as it took over three hours for us to get our correct cold order. I’m more inclined to think their slack service has got even slacker. No more menulog for me.
 
All I can say, is, the lady who ordered the big mac & rec'd the empty box just did her "GUT" a really big favour. I bought a Macca's many, many, moons ago. Took a bite & then tossed it in the garbage bin. This was a little bit after macca's first opened up in the suburbs of Sydney. Never had one since. The worst example of a burger imaginable. But, there again, billions of people have absolutely no respect for their gut at all. Can anyone recall, at the time when macca's first opened up in the suburbs, wimpy's burgers were there in competition. J. Wellington Wimpy, was always munching on a burger in the Popeye {The Sailorman] comic strip.
