Score unique, Winter-exclusive bargains for over 450 products at Woolworths!

As the crisp chill of winter begins to settle across Australia, Woolworths is warming shoppers' hearts and wallets with multiple promotions and price drops.

In addition to its ongoing 'Big Night In' promo, the supermarket giant will delight customers further with a winter-exclusive sale.

From May 29 to August 27, prices will plummet by an average of 20 per cent on more than 450 products—a move sure to bring extra comfort during the colder months.

The selection of goods receiving a price cut is not random; the items are curated to ensure that customers can continue enjoying their grocery essentials without the financial strain.

'We understand our customers' pressures and the need to budget for hearty, warming meals and grocery essentials for their families,' Woolworths' Chief Commercial Officer Paul Harker shared.

'Our Prices Dropped for Winter program is designed to give our customers certainty on the key products they'll be buying this season to help their budgets go further.'

Meat lovers can rejoice as the price of corned beef silverside drops from $10/kg to $8/kg, marking the product's lowest price since November 2020.

Whole chickens will see an 18 per cent reduction, going from $5.50 to $4.50.

For those who fancy a bit of pork belly roast or beef chunk steak, prices are tumbling down to $16/kg and $15/kg, respectively.

Vegetarians and pantry-fillers will also benefit from this winter sale—A 1kg pack of Uncle Tobys Oats will now be available for just $5, down from $6.50.

Pasta enthusiasts can grab a 500g pack of La Molisana Pastificio for $3.50, reduced from $4.

For coffee connoisseurs, a 20-pack of Vittoria Oro Coffee capsules is now only $9, a significant 30 per cent decrease.

Even medicine cabinets get a look-in, with a 36-pack of Strepsils anaesthetic lozenges dropping 21 per cent from $19 to $15.

Woolworths is not holding back on the savings this winter.

The strategic price drop follows their competition with Coles as they win over customers during an ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci said the company may forego potential profits if it means doing 'the right thing' for customers.

'We are very sensitive to things like the price of milk, what we would call lunch box items,' Banducci added.

Woolworths demonstrated this commitment by lowering the price of half-leg hams to $8 per kg, the lowest since 2014.

During the festive season last year, they also reduced prices on 26 lamb products by 20 per cent.

However, both supermarket giants faced scrutiny over their recent profit hauls amidst the cost-of-living crisis affecting consumers.

In 2023, Woolworths reported a $1.62 billion profit, while Coles delivered $1.098 billion in profits.

Despite this, supermarkets maintain that the Australian market is competitive and that price increases in supply chains are a significant factor in supermarket price increases.

Woolworths' winter price drop is a perfect opportunity to stock up on essentials and enjoy the savings.

So list your favourites and head to Woolworths to take advantage of these winter bargains.

Big deal... they are probably running scared of the investigation into pricing....
Try 50% of the already 50% off pricing to make it meaningful.

How many of these 450 items are non edible or do not constitute an ingredient for a basic meal?

Let's see if the majority of these items comprise of cleaning products, confectionery and chips, vitamin supplements, cosmetics and electronic accessories.

The products mentioned in the article is a fair representation of the 450 products? I don't think so.

The "so called" price reductions only follow the jacked up prices over the past 12 mths on the items. Therefore the news of price reductions is irrelevant and false.
EXACTLY.....

Thought Brad the CEO had been replaced by someone else?
No not yet which surprises me..... usually, higher ups get marched out of the building and any personal belongings forwarded to them.... this guarantees the do not do anything to jeopardize the business. Thats what I have experienced anyway.

Exactly right Vegie, just check their catalogues every week to see the FRESH FOOD PEOPLE, trying to sell junk instead of nutritional food.

Woolworths might be dropping prices here and there, but "shrinkflation", has hit a lot of their bread lines. Have you noticed things like " Tiger bread", still the same price, but a lot smaller than it has been for years......don't be fooled.
Carsrme.

Really?!? How gullible does he think customers are? Bull💩
What is that say ing? 'You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all the people all of the time'.
I reckon they are doing this to pull the wool over the eyes of the investigators and lessen the fallout...
Maybe if Woolies reduced the prices 50% below their advertised prices of 50% off they would make an impact... but the have to placate the shareholders.

That tells me the shareholders are to blame too.

Shareholders are the driving force behind ANY corporation's greed. Without the shareholders support, say goodbye to your brand.
