Royal watchers have raised concerns about the health of Queen Elizabeth II after new photos captured an unsettling detail on the monarch's right hand.
The Royal Family recently released official photographs from the 96-year-old monarch's meeting with Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, capturing the attention of social media after users pointed out that the Queen seemed to have a large bruise on her right hand.

One user asked: "Lovely photo. What's the matter with Her Majesty's hand? Looks nasty."
"Is that a bruise on her hand? Looks like it’s been slammed in a door or she’s had a fall," another added.
This isn't the first time people have speculated about the Queen's health, as she was also photographed with "purple hands" last year after her brief hospital stay.
Shakespear Medical Centre resident doctor Dr Jay Verma explained that the purple hand may be a sign of Raynaud's phenomenon, a condition where blood vessels overreact to cold temperatures or stress.
"It might be Raynaud’s phenomenon or just really cold hands! The purple is due to deoxygenated blood," he said.
However, this latest incident has people worried as the bruise looks quite severe.

Royal fans have noticed that Her Majesty has been facing a number of health issues as of late, including a hospital stay, a back sprain, and most recently, Covid-19.
Although she's been attending major events and engagements in a limited capacity, she had noticeably been relying more and more on a walking stick.
Royal expert Daniela Elser described the Queen's "concerning appearance" as "striking" in comparison to the photos taken with Scott Morrison last year, pointing out that she looks slim and frail.
She said: "The difference is truly startling."
"In the intervening 12 months, Her Majesty would appear to have become markedly more stooped, much thinner and overall appears to have shrunk."
We hope that the Queen is doing well and that this is just a minor injury. Our thoughts are with her and the Royal Family at this time.
What are your thoughts on this? And have you, or anyone you know, experienced similar purple hands?
