Ten pears hanging high, ten men come passing by. Each took a pear and left nine hanging there. How could that be?

This is cool ... "always read the question" my Dad would say. Now having done that, the answer is right there in the statement that "Each" took "a" pear and "left" nine hanging there. So, "Each" must be the name of the person who took the pear ... he then left nine hanging there. Thanks Dad. You're welcome!!!!
