REVEALED: Some secrets about KFC's world-famous recipe, according to a staffer

An employee at KFC has broken what has been a long-standing tradition of keeping the recipe for Colonel Sanders' world-famous fried chicken a closely guarded family secret.
According to KFC employee Jo, only a small group of people are aware of the authentic combination of the 11 herbs and spices used in the Original Recipe of Kentucky Fried Chicken at the fast-food chain.
She stated in the documentary ‘Secrets of the Fast Food Giants’ that the world-famous recipe is stored in a vault in Kentucky and that only two or three people at KFC actually know the exact recipe.
Because the fast-food chain uses two different factories to produce different components of its recipe, there is not a single manufacturer that possesses the full recipe.

The fryer oil is drained overnight, and then it is used to make the gravy, she claimed, adding that it is exactly the same process as if you were making proper gravy at home with the juices from the meat.
Additionally, Jo revealed that in the UK, the KFC buckets are made from a whole chicken that has been cut into nine equal pieces.
She went on to explain that because of this, they are able to achieve the ideal proportion of breading to chicken.
Other than that, she also said that popcorn chicken is prepared by coating chicken breasts in a simple seasoning and frying them.
"This chicken is from UK farms and has red tractor accreditation," Jo continued. "This is the same chicken that you would find in all UK supermarkets, so there is nothing different about the chicken we serve from what you would eat at home."
There's no denying that aside from the Pommies, Aussies also love their KFC. The fast-food chain has been a part of the country's food landscape for decades and shows no signs of slowing down.
In fact, KFC Australia is one of the most successful franchises of the global brand. Not only are the meals reasonably affordable, but they are also convenient and, most importantly, delicious. Okay okay, we admit they’re not super healthy, but we can’t go past a box of wicked wings every once in a while.
Truly, the fast-food chain's long-guarded secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices has won over the hearts (and stomachs) of many of us, and there's nothing quite like a bucket of KFC on any given day.
