Peter Dutton reveals his pick for this controversial government position

With the Federal Elections underway, Australia has yet to choose new leaders that could lead the nation.

In a move that has caught everyone's attention, Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has reshuffled his front bench and introduced a role straight out of another politician's playbook.

The government efficiency portfolio is aimed at streamlining government operations and cutting down on wasteful spending.

The newly-minted concept echoed United States President Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency initiative.

At a press conference in Cairns, Dutton announced that MP David Coleman would be stepping in as shadow Foreign Affairs Minister.

MP Coleman will be taking over the retiring Senator Simon Birmingham.

However, his revelation of the government efficiency portfolio turned many heads.

This portfolio was not an official agency but rather represented a push towards fiscal conservatism and operational streamlining.

Dutton revealed his choice of manager for this portfolio.

He named Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price as his shadow Minister for Government Efficiency on top of her duty as the shadow Minister of Indigenous Australians.

Price has been a vocal opponent of the proposed Indigenous Voice to Parliament.

Her new role could see her applying a similar scrutiny to government spending and efficiency.

During the announcement, Dutton highlighted the perceived excesses of the current government.

'Six billion dollars a year spent on 36,000 new public servants in Canberra that are of no assistance whatsoever to the people of Cairns, and the people of regional communities who want additional investment,' Dutton lamented.

Dutton and his team have positioned themselves as the champions of the taxpayer, as they promised to redirect resources to where they believe they are most needed.

The reshuffle also saw other significant changes, with NSW MP Melissa McIntosh taking over the communications portfolio from Coleman.

Meanwhile, Senator Claire Chandler stepped into government services and the digital economy, and South Australian MP Tony Pasin took on roads and road safety.

In addition, NSW MP Julian Leeser and Senator Matt O'Sullivan have been appointed as shadow assistant ministers in foreign affairs and education, respectively.

Senator Kerrynne Liddle joined in as the shadow minister for Indigenous Health Services, in addition to her roles in Child Protection and Prevention of Family Violence.

Queensland MP Ted O'Brien should now be the shadow minister for Energy Affordability and Reliability, effectively complementing his Climate Change and Energy portfolios.

Lastly, MP Michael Sukkar has assumed the position of Manager of Opposition Business in the House of Representatives.

This reshuffle was more than just introducing new faces and titles; it was a preparation for the coming Federal Election.

'It's time for us to have a change of government in this country, to get our country back on track, and part of that is to rebuild international relations,' Dutton emphasised.

The introduction of the government efficiency portfolio, in particular, signalled a commitment to fiscal responsibility and a leaner government.

Whether this reshuffle would translate into electoral success remains to be seen.

For now, Dutton and his team's bold moves could redefine their party's image and priorities.

The people I know over there who voted for him so their groceries would get cheaper. Not sure how that will happen with his decisions he's making.
Well it won't and anybody who thinks it will is a bit short in the brains department. People need to put their thinking caps on and look past the narrative. Anybody can "say" anything.
If they had only thought, they would have realised that with the things he is planning to do they are all going to be worse off not better.
Common sense people

An efficiency department is not a bad idea as long as the suitable individual will run it. But Trump, who always stumble and mess things up, he appointed a Nazi sympathiser Elon Mask who a large portion of Americans are now angry that it appears a majority of fuck ups of Trumps early Executive Orders seem to gleaned from Masks leanings.
Terrible ones are the 25% tariffs he imposed effective this week against Canada & Mexico. He also threaten Europe with additional tariffs. There is a majority sentiment in USS that it is the American people who will surely suffer. His pardoning of 1,600 plus convicted January 6 white supremacists did not go well too.
Now he demands to annex Denmark’s Greenland and the Panama Canal.
I pray that Australia will not be jeopardised by any of Trumps future actions. Countries around the world are praying about it too! May the Lord save the world from Trump (Ukrainians are not very confident, poor them)
He also intends to expand America's territories. How do you do that without a war? You can't just walk in and take over...shades of Putin!!
Does he just think Denmark will just let him take over Greenland. Are we going to follow him in there to take over what is mainly a whole lot of nothing.
Shades of "all the way with LBJ" or the
"non existent chemical weapons" saga.
When is enough enough.

Elect a clown, you get a circus, for all it’s worth none of the leaders are worth their what they are paid .

This action has finally set him apart from Albo. I’m sick of the bloated moaning public service. All through COVID they still got paid full entitlement's and some even got pay rises. If you’re self employed like me. We lost 80% of money and still haven’t recovered. They Started moaning that “I can’t go to the office now” “it’s unfair to ask me to travel to work and sit in an office”. That means I can’t stay in my pyjamas all day and pick up the kids from school or go shopping instead of doing a zoom call. Give me a break. Jacinta is the right person to crack down on these oxygen theives.

Almost ALL January 6 prisoners were non violent - the only ones who died in the Capitol protest were Trump supporters, killed by Capitol police. Remember the serious criminals Biden pardoned, including one who killed police officers.
Four police officers committed suicide after the attack because of the trauma from the attack.

We have had many floods ,this just happens to worse ,climate change has nothing to do with it ,same as bush fires because the greenies blocked clearing the yearly build up in bush land. Climate change is just a money 💰 making racket for the elites who are taking the country backwards and putting lives at risk.

How many slabs for new housing were made in a concreter's living room during COVID-19? How many beers were poured in a barperson's kitchen? How many malfunctioning washing machines were repaired in the customer's house? How many kitchens were fabricated by cabinet makers in a garage rather than a factory setting? What about tourist operators conducting tours of their house?

"Working from home" was the greatest load of shit for a concept in business. What percentage of Australia's workforce are employed in offices? Try about 35%. What happens to the other 65%? But nobody cares about them!

Trump is doing something about his country by being tough not like our wishy washy labour under labour the country has gone backwards likes to buy votes from the brain dead Dutton will give this country a shake up thank goodness get it back in line
Donald J Trump does and says what he wants and only does it for one person. Himself. He’s proven that over and over.

I’ve never trusted politicians, but it’s getting increasingly worse. It’s worldwide. Can’t believe anything they say, especially leading up to an election.

I hate that voting is mandatory. A waste of time for me.

Research Dutton's great great grandfather, Charles Boydell Dutton, and you find the former Lands Minister of Queensland in the mid 1880s to be a very nasty person.

What became Charles Dutton’s central Queensland seat had been the site of the Cullin-la-ringo Massacre – the largest single killing of white colonists, 19 men, women and children.

That was in revenge for the murder of Gayiri men by a neighbouring squatter.

And in revenge for Cullin-la-ringo, some 370 Gayiri men, women and children were killed.
You can pick your friends but you can't pick your family.

Of course it’s a good move! The federal public service is very bloated and inefficient, full of high paid employees who add nothing to productivity, but are only there to enforce ideological campaigns like DEI. Time to focus on front line staff and reduce useless high paid managers and executives. Go Peter and Jacinta!
Totally agree Nanna Kay.
In fact this needs to transition right through state down to local governments. Our local Council promotes people who stuff up in their jobs to management positions. Suddenly they increase the number of co-ordinators, team leaders etc. that all require vehicles etc ect.
Council then increase rates because they can no longer stay within budget.

So some of you want Dutton to become Australia's version of Trump?

THINK VERY CAREFULLY!

Just a few minutes ago, I was researching deaths attributed to Fentanyl in the US after Trump claimed that there has been over 200000 deaths due to overdose in January ALONE!!! News for this simpleton! For the year 2023-2024, there was less than 90000 deaths. Is Trump, in his delusional micro brain, claiming there has been a sudden 25 fold increase in 12 months?

To make things more laughable, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued the following statement:-

CDC’s website is being modified to comply with President Trump’s Executive Orders.
Theis reeks of unnecessary and probably illegal control of a US Government agency to push his own agenda.

Someone do the world a favour and put this megalomaniac to sleep...permanently!
