Peter Dutton reveals his pick for this controversial government position

With the Federal Elections underway, Australia has yet to choose new leaders that could lead the nation.

In a move that has caught everyone's attention, Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has reshuffled his front bench and introduced a role straight out of another politician's playbook.

The government efficiency portfolio is aimed at streamlining government operations and cutting down on wasteful spending.

The newly-minted concept echoed United States President Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency initiative.

At a press conference in Cairns, Dutton announced that MP David Coleman would be stepping in as shadow Foreign Affairs Minister.

MP Coleman will be taking over the retiring Senator Simon Birmingham.

However, his revelation of the government efficiency portfolio turned many heads.

This portfolio was not an official agency but rather represented a push towards fiscal conservatism and operational streamlining.

Dutton revealed his choice of manager for this portfolio.

He named Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price as his shadow Minister for Government Efficiency on top of her duty as the shadow Minister of Indigenous Australians.

Price has been a vocal opponent of the proposed Indigenous Voice to Parliament.

Her new role could see her applying a similar scrutiny to government spending and efficiency.

During the announcement, Dutton highlighted the perceived excesses of the current government.

'Six billion dollars a year spent on 36,000 new public servants in Canberra that are of no assistance whatsoever to the people of Cairns, and the people of regional communities who want additional investment,' Dutton lamented.

Dutton and his team have positioned themselves as the champions of the taxpayer, as they promised to redirect resources to where they believe they are most needed.

The reshuffle also saw other significant changes, with NSW MP Melissa McIntosh taking over the communications portfolio from Coleman.

Meanwhile, Senator Claire Chandler stepped into government services and the digital economy, and South Australian MP Tony Pasin took on roads and road safety.

In addition, NSW MP Julian Leeser and Senator Matt O'Sullivan have been appointed as shadow assistant ministers in foreign affairs and education, respectively.

Senator Kerrynne Liddle joined in as the shadow minister for Indigenous Health Services, in addition to her roles in Child Protection and Prevention of Family Violence.

Queensland MP Ted O'Brien should now be the shadow minister for Energy Affordability and Reliability, effectively complementing his Climate Change and Energy portfolios.

Lastly, MP Michael Sukkar has assumed the position of Manager of Opposition Business in the House of Representatives.

This reshuffle was more than just introducing new faces and titles; it was a preparation for the coming Federal Election.

'It's time for us to have a change of government in this country, to get our country back on track, and part of that is to rebuild international relations,' Dutton emphasised.

The introduction of the government efficiency portfolio, in particular, signalled a commitment to fiscal responsibility and a leaner government.

Whether this reshuffle would translate into electoral success remains to be seen.

For now, Dutton and his team's bold moves could redefine their party's image and priorities.

Maybe have some knowledge before you make spurious and unfounded claims. From ABC's Triple J Unearthed website:-

In November 2013 Jacinta Price is launching her debut album - DRY RIVER - a mix of folk, soul and country music that pays tribute to her life growing up in Central Australia. DRY RIVER is produced by Australian country music legend Bill Chambers and released by CAAMA Music.
In addition:-

Price is a NAIDOC Award-winning singer, songwriter and recording artist. As a child, she learned the violin before joining local hip-hop groups Flava 4 and C-Mobs.
Admittedly, her music is crap, but does not detract from the fact that does she does have a place in the music game.

Looks like @Bridgit has made a few blunders today. Statements without facts.

We are already seeing the effect of Trumpism across the globe. Dutton is echong Trump because he wants to be prime minister. He has no vision for Australia except as a cash cow for him to receive money from the nuclear industry. The only truth that has been spoken was when the Nationals leader daid: "The next election will be a referendum on nuclear energy.,"

If they are really looking to save tax payer money let's stop the millions of dollars in fireworks which are not only costly but noisy, polluting and out of date.

I am Australian, and like many other Australians, I support Trump's policies - which can be applied across the world.
Then move to the USA
Wake up to regular mass shootings of innocent children. Watch your neighbours being deported because of their different skin colour. Pay tips so the Cafe owner can pay staff $2,13 per hour. Watch your neighbours suffer because they can't afford basic health care or trust their medical insurance to meet valid claims.

You can support Trump as he bullies sovereign countries into meeting his demands by imposing tariffs or threatening military action if his demands are not met.

You can also watch your neighbours sacked because they are not of the same political persuasion or speak out about a convicted felon, a convicted fraudster, serial sexual predator and six times bankrupt.

I make no apologies for finding Donald Trump to be a bad man and we don't need similar people running this country.

I might add that we have lived in the greatest era that ever existed in modern times. If being woke means having a social conscience and being aware, then I am happy to carry that title. We have a very low unemployment rate, a low inflation rate, low interest rate by historical standards. Australia is truly the best country in the world. The USA is not and Trumps policies will return us to the era of trade wars , international trade tension and wage slaver.

Are you inferring he was corrupt?
Hmmm, well, it seems to me that it pays to know Peter Dutton as Minister for Immigration and Border Protection (2014-2018) and Home Affairs (2017-2021) :-
*He personally intervened to stop an Italian au pair – who had come to Australia to work for the family of a former QLD police officer colleague – from being deported.
* Dutton’s department restored a UK man's visa even though he'd been convicted of being an accessory to murder in a gangland killing.
*Dutton personally intervened to stop a French au pair from being deported after being lobbied by AFL boss at the time, Gillon McLachlan
*Dutton and his wife bought a shopping centre in Townsville, which he failed to declare in his Register of Members' Interests, finally admitting the “error” in 2020.
*Home Affairs awarded a $423 million contract to Paladin, whose registered address was a beach shack on Kangaroo Island.
*Home Affairs awarded Canstruct International Pty Ltd – a Brisbane company worth $8, at the time – a contract ultimately valued at $1.6 billion after a "financial strength assessment" was carried out on the wrong company. (Nouru offshore processing contract)….
The $1.82 billion paid to Canstruct over five years for the Nauru contract added significantly to the wealth of Queensland’s Murphy family, who were also Liberal National Party donors. Their family-owned company, Canstruct International, posted profits of $127 million after tax in 2021-22 bringing total profits to more than $442 million up to the contract’s conclusion in late 2022. You would think it was big news that Opposition Leader Peter Dutton had presided over billions of dollars in government contracts to allegedly crooked companies and ignored all warnings about them for years.

So you are happy to support a convicted felon, mysognisytic, pathological liar, demonstrated sexual abuser and so many other despicable character flaws. Good for you! :(
I would suggest NannaKay move herself to USA. It sounds as if she would be happier there
She would be in like minded company, there's plenty of uneducated dimwits over there with their heads stuck up their rear ends
Anybody with half a brain and a knowledge of basic economics can see that the things he is planning to do will have astronomical repercussions on their economy.
Does she not realise that everything that is imported will now be 25%dearer. Something that would have been $100 will now cost $125, some big ticket item at say $10 000 will now be $12,500. And these dimwits think they are going to be better off under Trump.
Somebody turn the light on, America's gone to sleep.
Why people would put somebody who has been bankrupted on numerous occasions , not to mention morally bankrupt, in charge of their country is beyond comprehension. A bit like putting the fox in charge of the hen house.

Why can't politicians have an idea that they haven't stolen from another politician/party/ country? Something needs to be done but do we have to copy the Americans?????
Ah yes, No. 1 rule in a Dictator's Handbook of Tactics -
Blitzkrieg, meaning 'Lightning War', was the method of offensive warfare responsible for Nazi Germany's military successes in the early years of the Second World War.

Trump’s only just getting started. How can one obviously demented, narcissistic lunatic be allowed such power?! He seems to buy his way out of everything. Why else would he surround himself with billionaires?

I left Canada to move here in late 1974, so I left all family behind (except my West Australian husband and baby son). I fear for my siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews who still live in Canada.

So Forrest Trump wants to place tariffs on Chinese goods. How does Elon Muskrat feel about that, considering that, in 2023, 22.5% of all Tesla vehicles were manufactured in China.

This comes on top of Trump's comment on his "inauguration" day where he made the statement "Drill, baby, drill" in support of fossil fuelled vehicles.

Two very dodgy characters which Dutton want to follow....down the highway to hell.

Vilification? Do you know the legal definition of such a term?

Let's look further. "Vilification" refers to a public act, such as speech or writing, that offends, insults, humiliates or intimidates another person on the basis of race, sexuality, age or disability.

Firstly, the Seniors Discount Club is technically not a public forum as you need to have membership to post and participate. STRIKE ONE!

Secondly, in none of my posts on this subject have I made offensive, insulting, humiliating or intimidatory statements to any other SDC member with regard to political views since political views are not covered under vilification legislation, only workplace laws where it is an offence to discriminate against another person because of political beliefs. STRIKE TWO!

Want to have a day in court trying to sue me for a dreamed up "offence"? Probably wouldn't last 15 minutes at the most, when the magistrate dismisses your hollow claims all the while laughing!

BRING IT ON!
Read it again - where does it state YOU! This is what I mean you all are allowed to have YOUR opinions but woe betide others have one as well - the hysteria that flows from you lot is laughable at times!

I don't have opinions....only views.

Opinions are tainted by feelings, beliefs and faith and are not verifiable.

Views are based on facts, evidence and observations which can be proven. That is why I quote a source of my information to back up a statement.

Problem being that when you post something it's wise to google it first and confirm that what your saying is factual and not just what you "think"
That way you don't get shot down in flames.
I made that mistake in the past, but I did detract my statement and apologise.

Sounds like you are Jacinta’s biggest fan! 😊

I don’t see you showing respect to some of the SDC members’ comments. Read your last long sentence, it appears you are terribly full of yourself and disrespectful towards others. Example of your ridiculous statements:

…you have all outdone yourselves today…standing on thin ice…be careful these comments don’t see the light of day…”

What is that supposed to mean? A feeble threat? 🤣
Ha ha another one on their little pedastal -heads up - "disrespect breeds disrespect" didn't your mothers ever tell you that?
I have seen all of you with the exception of a few be very disrespectful here toward others - you all need to take a good hard look at yourselves!

You quoted a post of mine in your post #153 where you mentioned "vilification".

What more proof do you require?

If you rely on Google you will only find what AI wants you to know - that is why so many are getting brainwashed - I never use Google - Jacinta having a crack in 2013 does not put her in the sphere of her husband who is a profilic songwriter and artist and well respected by fellow artists and lovers of his music. It is easy for some to use their keyboards to malign those they don't know on a personal level - it just reinforces why my husband and I keep to ourselves and keep that element of so called humanity out of our lives and embrace our animals who share their lives with us - have a nice day.
