Who is entitled to a Northern Territory Seniors Card?

Any Northern Territory Permanent resident aged 60 or over.

What is the Seniors Card programme?

NT Seniors Card is part of an Australia-wide initiative jointly supported by the Northern Territory Government and private enterprises. The program recognises the valuable contribution of older people to their local community and Territory as a whole. The Seniors Card is issued free and provides access to a range of goods and services provided by participating businesses. The program is managed by the Council on the Ageing (Northern Territory).

What should I do if I have lost my Seniors card?

The Seniors Card is a lifetime card, you do not need to renew it. If you require a replacement card due to loss or damage, please contact COTA NT at [email protected] or by phone at: 1800 441 489.

How do I change my personal details?

If you have moved or if your registered details have changed, you can update them using the email address [email protected] or by phone: 1800 441 489.

Can I use my card interstate or overseas?

Each Australian state and territory has its own Seniors Card scheme, but some reciprocal arrangements are in place. Double-check with the business that they offer a discount for NT Seniors Cardholders before making a purchase.

Holders of both NT Seniors Cards have access to discounts and special offers on goods and services from some businesses involved in the New Zealand SuperGold Program. (This does not include transport concessions).

Look for the ‘SuperGold Cards Welcome’ stickers when travelling in New Zealand, and ask if they also accept the NT Seniors Card or Senior Savers Card. If a business does not offer discounts for Australian seniors, this will be noted on their website under 'exclusions'.

I am visiting from interstate or overseas. Can I use my card in NT?

Use the online discount directory to find the business discounts currently available, but note that not all businesses extend their offers to interstate and overseas cards so ask before purchasing if they accept your card.
