Hi, I'm Gordon.
I'm not sure how I'm supposed to present myself to this group but to relate my history I guess?
I'm supposed to be retired at 73 yrs of age but so far I've only got the "tired" part spot on; I'm workin' on the "re" part:)!
Married 51 years and now live in Adelaide having moved from my home town of Pt. Pirie 8 yrs ago to be with all my immediate family!

Welcome, if you learn to cook, you could change your handle to "Ramsay" (chuckles)

I currently do LOT'S of various handyman work. I'm a Fitter and Turner/ Welder by trade but learned a lot of skills as a young man. When my wife and I married 51 years ago, I bought my grandmothers weatherboard home which was probably very close to being condemned. I spent 14 years of my life completely renovating this house and consequently learned lots of skills. I also did part time work for my brother, an electrician/contractor, and my 'best man' at my wedding, a master plumber.
I'm currently almost 2 years in to completely renovating the entire house we are living in now and I'm almost finished the last room to complete a promise to my wife that I would renovate the total inside within 2 years! My finish date is 26th Nov:).
I have been run over twice, in intensive care of motor bikes twice, nearly drowned twice and the list is long. In fact I've had very close calls eleven times and very fortunate to still be here.
As you have probably gathered by now, I'm pretty much game for anything:sneaky::)

G'day Gordon, you are approaching the stage of retirement when you realise the week is made up of one Sunday and six Saturdays. :D

Oh my goodness :ROFLMAO: I feel as though I'm in the presence of an immortal human being! You certainly sound like someone I'd like to have around in a pinch. It's great that you aren't letting time pass you by and you're putting your skills to good use. Please post any handyman tips you have if you'd like to. I'm sure we'd all appreciate some DIY advice - at least know I will. Did you get before and after pictures of the house?
