Starting next month, the airport's international terminal will go through major renovations.
The renovations are expected to be finished by 2027 and should be done in incremental steps to minimise disruption to passengers and airport staff.
The airport's new design will include elevated passport check-ins and security to level four.

Brisbane Airport's Chief Executive, Gert-Jan de Graaff, highlighted the importance of this redesign.
'It allows people to check in and drop their bags at the same level as where they go through security and the passport control, which is obviously intuitively a much better experience,' de Graaff stated.
Along with the renovation, the airport will add new high-tech scanners.
This will allow passengers to keep electronic items like laptops snug as they pass through security.
This is a game-changer for travellers who fumble with their electronics at a checkpoint, further smoothening the travel process.
Self-service kiosks will also be introduced for convenience.
These kiosks should reduce queueing times, giving travellers more control over their check-in process.
While self-service kiosks will be present, agent-led check-ins will still be available in the new airport.
Duty-free stores will also be renovated and double in size.
A variety of new food, beverage, and retail outlets will be added—perfect for travellers looking for last-minute gifts or a delicious meal before flights.
The departure lounge should also undergo a stylish makeover while still giving a nod to the airport's history.
The rocks used in the original terminal will be repurposed as the lounge's benchtops and furniture.
These renovations could pave the way for future terminal expansions and the possibility of extra flights in Brisbane.
'We would love to have a direct flight established between Brisbane and India into Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia and Thailand,' De Graaff stated.
