Ive always loved writing my own poems I've started a collection I just suddenly feel I need to not things down here's one i wrote

Family by jacqui

When a child is conceived it is precious
In the womb now that baby is grown
Wether conceived with great love or whatever
From now with its mother it is home

From the first day you find out you are with child
There's a warmth on the inside you feel
That is the bond that is now growing
A mother and childs love is now sealed

Many a night while you lay there
thoughts flying around in your mind
You know soon the day will be upon you
Were your baby and you will be intwined

this 9 months now is the beggining
Its where the bond with you both will now grow
Its where memories of you both being together
Where you belle will now start to show

To feel your child inside you growing
Knowing protected inside you it will be
The feeling this great bond together
its the start now of your family

As the months pass your tummy starts rising
Its amazing what a mothers body can do
how it nurtures this baby to grow stronger
How it turns it to a mini image of you

Now the days here your waters have broken
Soon you will be meeting your child
But first there's the process of childbirth
Nobody told you its overwhelming not kind

Its amazing what pain the body will suffer
Its so amazing just what it can create
From two people an embro is growing
Into this baby such a likeness it will take

But what's amazing once your child you deluver
Is the love in your heart you now feel
The pain so so bad your glad its over
But its gone now its time now to heal

now your bond on the outside is begining
As a mother your child will now know
You will protect and cherish every moment
As your family now starts to grow

Your child as they grow up will test you
They will think they know better than you
if only they knew how much of yourself you have invested
But they won't till it's their turn just like you

Every day you will give them direction
At night when your awake and lack sleep
When they are sick and your scared but youll protect them
For your fears to yourself you will keep

You will guide them and they will not always be happy
You will punish them whenever they do wrong
For you hope that one day they'll understand why
Because you love them and you want them to be strong
You want them to always be happy
To succeed grow up and be wise
You try to teach them that life isn't easy
But that you'll always be right by there side

You hope that one day they will marry
And you hope that there partners are like you
That will love them unconditionally forever
Just love them as much as you do

When they hurt we hurt even deeper
When they cry we cry even more
We feel their pain whenever theyre suffering
For us it is 100 times more

From child birth till the day that i leave you
Only death will stop love in my heart
No matter how old, you are my children
I'll always love you till death do us part.

There's nothing like the bond of a mother
I have loved you from the day you were born
I will love and try to protect you forever
Without you my heart would be torn

Mistakes will be made there'll be plenty
There's no handbook to show us the way
It's that bond and protection of your mother
And Her nurturing loving motherly way

I'll do my best to love and protect you
I'll guide you the best way i know how
Then when your all grown up and an adult
I'll still be there to help your family now!!.

Without you my children I am nothing
Your my loves my life my everything
Many heartaches many headaches many nightmares
But we got there in the end ""winning !!! ""

Well done Jaquie, your poem is lovely, but a bit lost amongst limericks, there may be a separate poetry thread where is would be more appropriate.

Nooooo I didn't mean that lol.. maybe try your hand a few limericks maybe... only 5 lines at a time.. you'd be good at them.

waking up in the morning
with your eyes still tightly shut
and then you get that ghastly tongue
and in your face is your mangey mutt

there was a lady from down under
who was terribly scared of the thunder
she hid in her bed, blankets over her head
no one saw her again now we wonder

Nanajaq has started writing comic verse
With limericks the writing is terse:
Five lines are the thing
To give it some zing,
As long as it doesn't cause you to curse.
