Hi, my name is Lorraine, I live in Warrnambool, Victoria with my husband of 54 years and son who has a profound disability. He is non-verbal and wheelchair bound and has lots of lovely support workers to assist him enjoy his day, as he has a lot to say with his communication devises and gets around on the buses and his van when he goes out and about regularly with a worker.

I have retired from teaching; my last stint was delivering Introduction to the NDIS and Certificate IV in Disability and previous to that Certificate III in Aged Care, Disability & HACC services, plus many other courses in the adult sector.

I lasted a month in retirement then my family said I moddle cuddled them too much. So, now I am volunteering at our local maritime village where I work in the sweet shop and dress up in the costumes of the era that I have made. I am also the editor of our newsletter that reports what we volunteers are doing each month.

Loving the reports each day. Cheers Lorraine

I have a few pictures on my phone. But my connection from the phone to computer is still in one of dozens of boxes that we didn't open yet from our moving to this retirement home.
I promise I will sent some in the future.
Claire
Oh, absolutely no rush, @Clairette! Thank you for considering my request ❤️ I'm looking forward to seeing the photos!

Hello to all, my name is Jenny and I will turn 83 in a couple of weeks from now. I have 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and so far 3 and 1/2 great grandchildren. I have a large garden which occupies a lot of my time, I am learning Scottish country dancing, and love reading and cooking. I look forward to all the tips and recommendations at this site.
This is not actually meant as a reply to anyone, I just couldn't find another way to make a comment.
Welcoooome, @jenran! Lovely introduction :) Several members here love gardening, reading, and cooking too! I think you'll fit in perfectly. Thanks for taking the time to say hello to us!

Oh, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this introduction, @rainide! Welcome, welcome, welcooome :) You seem like such a lovely person, and I'd love to be friends with you. What's the best part about volunteering at your local village? :D

Good Morning Everyone,
My name is Diane, I live in Sydney in a beautiful area around a lake where you can have great bbques (when you are allowed) areas for children to really enjoy the outdoors. I live with my wonderful husband of 47 years , we met on a blind date over 50 years ago still very happy with each other..
We have a son and daughter, 3 grand daughters and 6 great grand children only 1 being a girl. I enjoy my garden which is a great out let in these time, I love to cook especially trying new recipes for my diabetic husband, I love using my iPad and computer,.. I also am a fan of Tai Chi which I have been doing for over 20 years, now I do it through Zoom which is one of the great inventions We are always busy doing something around the house and have not found the lock down to worry us too much, the only thing is it has restricted us from seeing our family which is very sad. I am sure things will eventually quiet down and it will be better for all, unfortunately a little different to what we are used to.
I look forward to seeing posts from the group and thank you for accepting me as a member.
To all the members keep healthy and safe
regards
