Australian budget airline Jetstar is celebrating its 19th birthday by offering free return flights on selected domestic and international routes. How's that for a birthday gift to us all?

‘Whether you're 19 or 91, the airline wants Aussies to 'feel 19 again' by booking on one of the 59 domestic and 28 international routes,’ a Jetstar spokesperson said.

The sale includes popular domestic routes like Sydney to Melbourne, with prices starting from just $77. You can also fly from Melbourne to Hobart from $111 or from Perth to Adelaide from $219. With prices this low, it's the perfect opportunity to finally visit that Australian city you've always wanted to explore.

How about a tropical getaway? Fly from Perth to Bali (Denpasar) from a mere $269. Or perhaps you'd prefer an exotic Thai adventure? Jet off from Sydney to Phuket from only $439.

A number of these routes even include free return tickets, making this deal even sweeter. Just imagine the extra spending money you'll have for souvenirs, dining out, or treating yourself to a luxurious spa day!

Travel dates vary, but include tickets for early February to mid-March 2024. To increase your chances of getting the best deals, remember to stay flexible with your travel dates. This gives you plenty of time to plan your dream getaway.

While you're taking advantage of these low fares, don't forget some budget travel tips. Use public transportation, seek senior discounts at attractions, and try local cuisine at affordable eateries to stretch your dollar even further, and before setting off on your adventure, don't forget to purchase travel insurance. It's especially important for seniors to ensure a worry-free trip.

Jetstar Group CEO, Stephanie Tully, said the airline's free-return sales have been incredibly popular in the past.

‘From day one, Jetstar's been offering great low fares so Australians can fly more often. On our 19th birthday, we are as excited and as passionate as ever about making travel affordable for more people,’ she said.

My brother is a pilot. This company in the industry is known as "JokeStar". Pre and Post Covid, they haven't demonstrated their ability to fly scheduled flights. Be aware you may have your trip cancelled or delayed. My worst experience with them was "only" an 18 hour delay.. yet many have experienced disruption for days. A few dollars off a fare with no reliability, sorry, not for me.

If you get a free return ticket you will find the one way you pay for will be expensive, the same as the low price flights, these prices are for one way and you will find the return flight will be expensive.

These so called cheap flights end up working out the same price as a normal return flight or more.

Jetstar are always cancelling flights .

Do your research of different ticket cost before purchasing, to many people jump in and purchase thinking they will miss out on a great deal

Making travel more affordable???? Sure are as using the $5000 that I spent on flights pre Covid. Short time to use these flights. No credit given. Couldnt fly as there were no flights???? I have contacted Jetstar many times with no explanation and now I cant even contact them as they have blocked me. I now know where my $5000 went to. Frequent cancellations with Jetstar. I will never fly with them again. I call them S..tStar.

I love Jetstar. Having been on 15 flights with them, I have never had any trouble at all with them, excellent service from them . Am I just the one and only lucky one, I cant understand people who have had complaints with them. The last flight with Jetstar was last November to Bali, and there was a problem with a delayed flight, of 10 MINUTES !!!! In fact it went ahead 5 minutes earlier. Sorry but I would not travel with any other airline.

Such a useless airline. There is a FB group called "Why we hate Jetstar" . Count the ways that they can stuff up

As I mentioned yesterday, beware the cheap flights. Because of the violence on many routes, especially Perth to Bali, a lot of young travelers go there because it’s a cheap place to stay. Their flights are usually delayed, so off to the bar we go for 2 or 3 beers. Another announcement comes through, more delays! Time for a few more drinks. 3 hours later, they board the plane. They discover no free entertainment and no free food or grog. So as their anger escalates, another beer or 2 they have to pay for, they explode in anger and violence, because of frustration. This is how the trouble festers. Alcohol. Then the attendant tells them no more alcohol, and it’s on for young and all. Scarey stuff, and not for viewing by children. This is fact. My niece is a police officer, and she said that the airline industry promoting cheap fares, promotes trouble. Gezabel.
