Gross! This plane passenger's 'dirty' behaviour is making everyone nauseated

We know travelling can be an enriching experience. But flights can be pretty exhausting, especially if you’re stuck with passengers that have no consideration for others.

Such was the case for this one Reddit user, who had to sit through a gruelling flight with this nightmare passenger.

The plane passenger posted a photo to Reddit, a popular social media forum, which showed the extended leg of a woman seated behind them, resting her dirty foot on the armrest between the seats and window side of the plane. Ew.

‘The foot started out at the rear of the armrest and by the end of the flight it was fully extended, maybe she had fallen asleep at that point,’ said the original poster.

People were appalled by the woman’s bad behaviour and were quick to express their anger in the comments section.

‘That’s disgusting. Call one of the flight attendants,’ said one user.

Another added: ‘What the F is wrong with people.’

Fair warning, members. The photo below shows, well… one dirty foot.

‘I have a major aversion to feet and this would make me gag,’ commented another.

‘That’s full-on disgusting, disrespectful, and gross,’ wrote an upset user.

‘I fly a lot and this is more common than you think,’ someone claimed.

One person agreed and said: ‘There is a surprising amount of international idi*cy on aeroplanes these days.’ They also added that these types of passengers know exactly what they’re doing.

Many suggested…creative ways of dealing with the problem. ‘Tell them to move it, or stab it with something,’ offered one user.

Someone else replied: ‘Fake sneeze and squirt a little water on it.’

‘My dad would bring a sharpie and draw a face,’ a third shared.

One, er, eager user offered this unorthodox advice:

‘Suck on the toes.’

Another user suggested: ‘Be annoying and just keep tickling them. They’ll move, especially if you accompany it with the classic “cootchie-coo!”.’

‘People say stab it, or tickle it, or suck it. I say [to] very gently and sensually caress it. They will move,’ assured someone else.

Others said that this is exactly why they travel with disinfectant.

‘When going on the plane, I wipe all my surrounding surfaces in the sitting area I touch.’

Unsurprisingly, this type of behaviour isn’t an isolated case. In a previous article, we compiled other people’s ‘bad’ experiences during their flights. You can read more about that here.
Key Takeaways

  • A photo posted to Reddit of a woman's foot extending onto the armrest of the seat in front of her on a plane sparked outrage among commenters, who called the act ‘disgusting’ and ‘disrespectful’.
  • Other Redditors shared their suggestions for how to deal with an unwelcome foot, including tickling it or using a fork to scrape it.
  • Others said that this is a common – and unfortunate – occurrence on planes.

I would have grabbed her foot with both hands and rotated it sharply in one direction.

I would tickle it with something disposable and hope she withdrew, and if asleep she may not have been aware where her foot was. It is the small tight cramped seats and limited space allocated to each passenger in air travel now, that is the issue of spreading limbs and other simple actions that are irritating to others in such close proximity. The airlines don't care, they cram as many bodies as feasible in every plane already without considering sizes, heights, health conditions, and variables of the human frame!! We also have to be prepared to accept some things too. ( not dirty feet so close)as snorers and restless children, cuddling couples. The list is all human!

I would have found some indelible ink markers and drawn some pictures all over the foot, she would have had to wear full covered shoes and long socks every time she went somewhere reminding her of not ever doing that again.... No markers, then a pin would suffice.
