General Discussion Thread 01.02.2025

Rise and shine! It’s a brand-new day, and I (Seia) hope you’re feeling great. 😌 It’s a special day for me because aside from today is the start of love month, it’s also my mum’s birthday! We’re spending it catching up with relatives over lunch, sharing laughs, and bonding with my cousins. It’s a beautiful reminder of how lucky I am to have her in my life.

Now, here’s a thought for you: What's the best piece of advice your mum or someone you love has ever given you? Share them here!

My Nana always told me to treat others the way you would like to be treated, with kindness and respect.
Luv ya Nana 😘

I was dating my now wife when her mum warned, don’t you get her pregnant. After 2 years of being married she said, when are you going to have a baby? I guess we were waiting for her permission.
We eventually had 3 beautiful kids.

The least amount said, is the easiest amount mended🌻

My Mum was incredibly Wise
Mum said to me a long time ago
“You will know when you have met the right one”
“Your Heart will jump out of you Chest”
True words as Love came to me by Chance.
Maurice walked across the Dance floor and asked me to dance
He held me closely and My Heart jumped…….

Cheers.

When I started work at 14 my mother said Chose your friends wisely because sometimes your best friend turns out to be your worst enemy.

My nan was full of wisdom

She would always say, don't do to others what you don't want done to you.

When it comes to new babies , she told me to tune in to my mothers instinct and do what I felt was best. If you listen to everyone's advice it will all be different and at times confusing. This is one piece of advice I passed down to my daughters.

The final piece if advice from nan was always wear good underwear out because you don't know when you maybe in an accident. I told her I only have good underwear .

I don't know why I said this but she passed away suddenly from a heart attack on Central station and days layer I said to everyone gathered at her house that I hope at least she remembered what she always told us and that was I hoped she wore her good underwear.

She was the woman who raised me and inspired me and even after 33 years I miss her and will never forget her

Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves is another good saying.

I received this advice from my sister-in-law many, many years ago: Make sure you do the right thing.... and do it right!

One of the beautiful things I remember mum saying. Beauties on the inside.

When I was 8 years old and diagnosed with kidney disease my Mum told me "don't walk past a tap, turn it on and get a drink". I think that great advice still holds true as I go through about 6lt of water a day. Maybe when the time comes I'll actually float off the planet. ;) :ROFLMAO:

Be nice to everybody even if they are not nice to you.
They might be having a bad day.

My Mum taught me to cook and use the sewing machine, knit and repair clothes. You might need these skills one day she used to say. She died when she was 58!

There are times I wished i'd listened to what my mother told me, but sadly I didn't listen so I have no idea what she said 😯
