Two types of bloke in the world wankers or liars?
The name 'Monkey Nuts' was genuinely (and probably still is) used in South Africa for peanuts with shells. Yet, shelled Monkey Nuts are called Peanuts.
It's probably derived from seeing the monkeys there eat them from the trees. They do shell them before doing so.

I know, unfortunately things don't go as planned, this is what happens when you try and start a bit of frivolity into the discussions

I think it's hilarious and love feedback on other interpretations!
It's a bit like Americans calling their kid 'Randy' or referring to one's butt as a 'Fanny' (which is also a name) - and this is supposedy in the SAME language!

As far as I know we never referred to the rear as that name, thats what we called the front. An Americanism that crept into real English, the only one I can remember used to say my name is Frances you pig?
