Fry chicken in batches. Breasts and wings should take 12-14 minutes, and legs and thighs will need a few more minutes.

I made this tonight. Followed the secret list of ingredients meticulously. Even though it looked like KFC, it tasted and smelled nothing like it. The chicken turned out nicely cooked, but the coating was missing something.

Not sure what would have gone wrong. I've made it alot and it's really good and taste like kfc just not dry and as fatty as theirs .
Did you put every single herb n spice

Yes, followed the recipe exactly. I'm not saying it tasted awful. It turned out to be a regular fried chicken with a fried flour coating. Not unpleasant, but to me it didnt have the KFC taste. One bonus was that it wasn't dripping with oil as has been the case with some KFC s I have gone to. So was OK as a meal but not a replacement for KFC.

Interesting wonder why it’s a conundrum isn’t it🤔 I’d do it but I don’t own a deep fryer. Bummer.😊
Yes, that was my problem also. I don't have a deep fryer, but I 3/4 filled a small saucepan with oil, got it steaming hot, and deep fried the larger pieces individually, but fitted the smaller pieces pieces in 2 at a time. Took a long time doing each cook 12 minutes at a time, but stored cooked pieces on a rack in a warm oven till all done.

You can use rice flour or cornstarch in place of plain flour for a better crunchier texture also and no floury taste.😊just saying.
