Chocolate lovers rejoice! This Celebration tubs favourite is here to stay

We Aussies sure do love our chocolate! Whether we’re enjoying a classic Cadbury Dairy Milk, munching on a Mars Bar, or indulging in an exotic Lindt creation, few things can cheer us up quite like delicious chocolatey goodness.

And one of the most underrated chocolate bars down under has to be the humble Bounty. A coconut-and-chocolate treat that’s beloved by children and adults alike, it’s often a go-to choice when stocking up on celebratory treats or stocking fillers for Christmas. Many of us here at the SDC can admit to having enjoyed more than our fair share over the years!

So you can imagine our dismay when we recently heard about the rumours that this Aussie favourite could possibly be pulled from Celebrations tubs.

It was said that surveys conducted in both Australia and the UK revealed that nearly 40 per cent of Bounty fans desired for the chocolate bar to be completely removed from the range due to its divisive taste. (Yes, even after all these years there are still people out there who don’t appreciate just how delicious they are!)

However, luckily for us diehard fans Down Under, Mars Wrigley listened to what we really wanted and decided against pulling them from Celebrations tubs altogether!

A spokesperson for Mars Wrigley confirmed to a news outlet that Bounty bars will remain in Celebrations tubs throughout Australia.

'Confirming there will not be Limited Edition “No Bounty” Celebration boxes in Australia. Australian Celebrations will continue to have Bounty in them.' they said.

Additionally, they proceeded to say that UK customers will be able to exchange certain chocolate tubs that feature the beloved treat for a one-of-a-kind, bounty-free tub until December 18.

It was also said that 2 out of 5 (a total of 38%) of respondents claimed that Bounty was their favourite chocolate bar and that the treat was worth spending money on despite the whole ‘too much chocolate is terrible’ narrative.

A number of their older consumers described the product as their 'guilty pleasure'.

'Christmas is a time for giving - but it seems this year, the British public are keen for us to take away...Bounty.'

'Last year, we gave them the option of taking them out of the tub altogether. And to those loyal – and secret – Bounty lovers out there, there's still a chance they'll make a return after the trial.'

So, if you’re a huge fan of the Bounty bar and you’ve got a sweet tooth for these treats, we strongly encourage you to stock up on them as soon as possible!

Key Takeaways

  • Mars Wrigley has confirmed that Bounty bars will remain in Australian Celebrations tubs this Christmas.
  • This comes after the UK division of the brand announced a special edition tub of Celebrations chocolates that have no Bounty's in them.
  • Mars Wrigley also announced that customers will be able to exchange certain chocolate tubs that have the Bounty bars in them for a Bounty-free tub until December 18 in the UK.

And if you’re wondering why on earth some people absolutely adore the chocolate bars, here are a couple of reasons according to one rave review: 'The combination of the coconut and the chocolate is just heavenly.'

'It’s the most indulgent of the cheap, British chocolate bars. In fact, it’s the only cheap British chocolate bar that seems to be made with a bit of thought.'

I love most chocolates and buy a box of Favourites every major shop which is every two weeks. However I get stuck with the white chocolate "Dream". At last count I had 50 of them. I had them all ready to give out on Halloween but nobody came this year. I think word got around and even the local kids must hate them too. I wish there were more Turkish Delight and yes, Bounty bars in there.

Never eaten from a pack of celebrations & if I did it would not be a bounty as I don't like even the smell of coconut.

I am sensing I am the odd one out.
I don't enjoy Bounty Bars at all.
I find them too sweet.
But I love the flesh of the coconut, straight from the tree if possible.
I could munch on that for ever.
The only thing that slows me down is getting it out after I've drunk the milk.
