Cate Blanchett's shocking moves leave fans speculating about her marriage

Cate Blanchett, the Australian actress who has graced our screens in countless unforgettable roles, has recently made a series of moves that have left fans and followers speculating about the state of her marriage.

She is married to Andrew Upton, a renowned Australian playwright, screenwriter, and director.

The couple, who have been married for an impressive 26 years since tying the knot in 1997, have always been seen as a strong and united pair in the often tumultuous world of entertainment.

However, two recent events have set the rumour mill into overdrive.

Firstly, the couple decided to put their Melbourne home up for sale.

This property, which they purchased back in 2006, has been a significant part of their lives and the place where they raised their four children: Dashiell, 22, Roman, 19, Ignatius, 16, and eight-year-old Edith.

The decision to sell this family home, located in the Melbourne suburb of Prahran, has left many wondering if this is a sign of a significant shift in their lives.

The property, which they have cherished for 17 years, is listed with a price guide of $2.25 million to $2.45 million.

The second event that has sparked speculation is Blanchett's recent appearance at the 2024 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards.

The Oscar-winning actress arrived at the prestigious event without her wedding ring, a detail that did not go unnoticed by the eagle-eyed media and fans.

Instead, she wore a large emerald ring, which only added fuel to the speculative fire.

This is not the first time Blanchett has been spotted without her wedding band.

Earlier in February, she attended the 40th-anniversary screening of Meryl Streep's classic film, Sophie's Choice, in New York—again without her wedding ring.

The couple, who have been living in the UK since 2015, were last seen together in August 2023 during a holiday in Ibiza.

Since then, there has been no public sighting of them together, and neither Blanchett nor Upton has addressed the rumours about their relationship status.

In other news, BAFTA recently sparked a wave of outrage among fans worldwide due to the glaring omission of beloved actor Matthew Perry from the In Memoriam segment of the ceremony.

Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing in the iconic sitcom Friends, passed away on October 28 at the age of 54 due to the 'acute effects of ketamine'.

Despite his significant contributions to the entertainment industry, Perry's name was conspicuously absent from the BAFTA's tribute to those we've lost in the past year.

This incident has led to a flurry of criticism on social media platforms.
