We purchased a 2nd caravan via f/book, luckily it was legitimate. Except RAC who the other parties finance was with wouldn't accept a BANK CHQ?? I thought it was still legal tender! There are so many scammers online now. I ask for cash only if selling small purchases & certainly wouldn't buy or rent a house online with Facebook or Gumtree leave that to the experts!
Even the experts wouldn't know what to do 🫢

I have bought small items twice from Facebook ads, set out very professionally many pages long, lots of photos. I could not see anything wrong. Twice I have not received the goods, no matter how many follow up emails I sent. Lesson learnt, I just scroll through those ads now.
Bought an item once as a test, never arrived, never again.

I bought curtains from Temu for $48.00 Same curtains on Amazon were $129.00. I also use PayPal.
I used to shop on Amazon, not any more.
I always use PayPal to buy on line. Have bought a few things I never received. Said my items were delivered but a few people have made mistakes with the way the commission has the street numbered and deliveries have been left up the road somewhere. Not sure where but not able to walk up there to find out and where they have been delivered to the people are not honest and have never brought them down to me and never returned to the sender. So p..sed off at the dishonesty and greed. 2 weeks ago there was a new driver for Coles and he delivered my order to them. Hope they enjoyed it. Coles did Reimburse me and delivered an order to me next day, thank heavens 😊

When I lived Mandurah on several occasions I received parcels that were not meant for me, even though they were correctly addressed
I always took them to the people to whom they were addressed. They were grateful but surprised at my honesty.

Sad state this world is in when people are surprised at honesty

Yes it is isn't it, I guess that's the difference from the way we were brought up compared to the ones today. Would expect something different from the people up the road considering it is for senior citizens. Makes you wonder how or where they were brought up. Not with honesty. Hey have had about 6 orders delivered to them that were mine plus a week's worth of cooked meals and the Coles order two weeks ago. Up to Coles to sort that out now.was a $100 dollar order of food. Totally dishonest

I bought a couple of cheap clothing items from some site. I was sent a harmonica, I was stunned. Didn't chase it up because I didn't pay much. I don't buy online now except for Coles, Kmart or some well known site like that. But I always go directly to these sites and never buy from emails or that. Still can't wear the harmonica
I’m commenting, tongue-in-cheek, so do not take offence in any way, please. Have you tried squeezing into those tiny slots on the harmonica, yet?!!

Wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. Unfortunately not too far now. lol
Sold our caravan a couple of years ago - buyers came to house to check it out, offered us a tad lower, we accepted offer, they came back next day with $1000 cash, gave them receipt for that and said until balance was cleared by our bank we would not release the van or have the registration transferred into buyer’s name. All clear a couple of days later, met new owners at vehicle registration place and did the transfer.

We never buy from advertisements, only from well respected companies like Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, Amazon, Myers etc where we can be assured of refund or complaint if something is wrong.

BUYER BEWARE - best to always keep that in mind, and never trust anything you see or read where your money is concerned.

Thank heavens the clothes were too cheap to be real but at least the harmonica was new from wherever they stole it
