People are still falling for Nigerian princesses and Ukrainian models, why wouldn't they fall for a free debit card from the government?

Stupid is always in fashion.
There are many people with disabilities that are vulnerable to these scams. Not to mention some elderly can be confused by this. That is why its important to pass on this info to help others. I know 3 of my friends who are not 'stupid' who have been scammed in the past.

With everyone struggling to make end meet these days this would be very tempting for some. The 38 000AUD is a bit obvious.

Like all commentators on this site - enough is enough, however, we have tried to send info to the scam address but it is so difficult - we are in our 80s - we are being constantly scammed with phone messages and the occasional email, we have now given up as we now believe that whoever is watching scams from Government have either given up or work from home and forget what they are doing, you know - Days of our lives !! We personally do not believe that the Government are trying hard enough to stop this racket, so, it looks like we will have to be careful for the rest of our lives.
How do you expect the government to fix this? Scammers can be anywhere in the world and can send emails using any email address or texts using any phone number.

It is impossible to stop all scams, it's just like saying the government should stop all robberies, it cannot happen, they may reduce numbers, or make it harder for the scammer but nothing can be done to stop them totally.

So it's up to us to be vigilant.

Seriously.....I struggle to get by and live pretty much from day to day but even I am not stupid enough to fall for this.
My first indication that this was a scam is that it would have come from someone I have never given my email address too. Plus if I don't know the sender of any email then I automatically delete them.
