Sausage sizzles at Bunnings are a classic Australian fundraiser, providing non-profit groups, community, and charitable organisations with an easy and effective way to bring in much-needed donations.
It's a popular after-shopping treat—one might even say it's inexcusable to leave the store without purchasing a snag. It’s un-Australian.
But there's a catch when it comes to buying these sausage snags and carrying them back to our cars: holding them is a hassle! We can either wolf it all down on the way to the car, or we can stay in the parking lot and take our time.
If only there was somewhere we could put them so they would remain in place while we were driving…

It looks like our car really does have a place where we can put these snags! An Aussie driver claims that his vehicle has a 'hidden' compartment that is perfect for storing a sausage sizzle lunch from Bunnings.
According to his post, the Bunnings shopper found that the best spot to store his food is the empty space on the left side of the steering wheel of his Toyota Hilux.
'Who would have thought Toyota Hilux comes with a sausage snag holder?' he said in the clip.
The driver can be seen in the video putting away his sausage sizzle sanger, which is served in a bun and can be purchased at most Bunnings locations, in the left slot of his steering wheel.
This way, he can easily pull the Bunnings snag out to eat while the traffic lights are red, take a bite, and then put it back to continue driving. Pretty convenient, eh? Though we’re not sure that it’s entirely legal…
Just a word of warning, folks: we don't recommend driving while holding and eating a Bunnings snag; doing so could be risky because your complete attention isn’t on the road.
